ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Happy Birthday to you♥
Today is also Hot Toddy Day which celebrates a delicious drink made with honey, lemon, hot water and the spirt of your choice. It’s the perfect way to warm up on a cold winter day, and a few sips can also relieve cold or flu symptoms.
Hot toddies originated in Scotland sometime during the 18th century. While the exact details are unknown, one there suggests that the word toddy evolved from Tod’s well, also known as Todian Spring, the water supply for Edinburgh.
Today there are many variations of the the origin hot toddy recipe. Some versions call for tea, coffee cocoa, apple cider, spices and even butter. To celebrate today, brew up your favorite type of hot toddy and enjoy!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Celebrate we will, for life is short but sweet for certain.

This granddaughter’s birthday is one of my long distance celebrations, matter of fact she lives further away that most of my other grandchildren. The first picture today is of her and her brother. She is growing into a beautiful young woman and I miss not being able to see her grow up. A card was sent out as usual filled with love and birthday wishes for a very happy day.
Hot drinks do tend to warm us up when it is cold out, so I thought I’d share a recipe for a toddy that will help make you feel better too. It’s an enhanced cup of tea that is perfect for a cold night.
Hot Not Toddy
7 oz. hot tea
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Lemon wedge for garnish
In a warm mug, add the honey, lemon juice and spices. Top with freshly brewed hot tea. Stir well. Garnish with a lemon wedge. Serve and enjoy!
Essentially anything you would put into hot apple cider works great in a toddy. And hot apple cider is one of my favorite beverages in the winter time.
This week continues to be a very cold one and we’ve had snow but not enough to shovel. The temps are now below freezing but on the bright side, it is warm and cozy on the inside.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

Life is full of special occasions !
Happy Birthday blessings to your Pretty (indeed) Lady!
I've not enjoyed a Hot Toddy in a long time. Best I can recall, it was 18 years ago when my mother and I took a trip to Breckenridge, CO's ice sculpture festival. Vendors were selling them - both alcoholic and non. This sounds like something Tom would enjoy since he's been struggling with the cold and damp weather. Hard to believe since he grew up in Chicago! I guess living in Phoenix so many years spoiled him.
Happy birthday to Pretty Lady! She and her brother are pretty and handsome in that order. I like the backdrop of where the picture was taken! It does look like it was cold though!
Hubby likes a hot toddy with hot chocolate and then he'll add a little Bailey's cream to it. I like hot tea or cider to warm myself up on our "cold" evenings.

I'm not much for a hot toddy, but your version sounds delicious. Reminds me a bit of the Russian tea that was all the craze in the '70s. I will definitely try your tea toddy... today! Thanks.
It sounds like we have duplicate weather, MA. Happy staying-inside!! Happy Birthday to your beautiful granddaughter too!! Love, Andrea xoxo
