ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
On the Eighth Day of Christmas, My True Love Gave to Me:
Eight Maids a Milking!
For today’s gift, we take the Maids out and focus on milk. Could be the fair maidens in your life would love to have a milk chocolate treat. I got this huge bag of milk chocolate chips for making holiday treats so I have plenty. These chocolate peanut butter bars are a classic blend of peanut butter and chocolate and easy to make with only 5 ingredients
No Bake Chocolate and Peanut Butter Bars
2 c. confectioners sugar
2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1 c. smooth peanut butter
1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. butter, melted
2 c. milk chocolate chips melted
Have a 9 by 13 inch baking pan ready. Mix confectioners’ sugar, graham crackers, peanut butter, and butter in a medium bowl until well blend. Scrape into a greased baking pan and press into an even layer. Spread melted chocolate over top and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Let stand for 20 minutes at room temp. before cutting into bars. Freezes well if you want to make ahead.
Today I’m fixing our traditional Pork and Sauerkraut meal for the New Year. Those of my family, that are close enough to come, will probably be here for dinner. It’s been a tradition in my family for as long as I can remember and is supposed to bring good luck.
Today’s pictures are all about the kids at our family Christmas. Tomorrow I hope to have New Year's photos.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday! Happy New Year!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.
Abraham Lincoln
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6664. for a happy New Year for everyone
6665.for a new computer, thanks to all my children
6666. for DS#6 who set it up
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past. Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go.
Brooks Atkinson
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

May 2019 be the best year ever! A very Happy New Year from my house to yours !
Oh my, is there anything more gratifying than the reactions (expressions) on your grands' faces? A new computer?! That's so awesome!
Tom and I were discussing traditional New Years meals just yesterday. Your pork and sauerkraut sounds yummy, but I fear of late Tom's fed up to his eyeballs in pork. The only nod to tradition here is a mess of black-eyed peas, greens and Conecuh sausage.
I mentioned it before, but growing up we always had pork chops and sauerkraut for New Year's Day. Not sure what we'll be doing yet for dinner today, but I'm sure it probably won't include pork, LOL (not that I don't like pork, but we rarely cook it).
Lovely pictures of your grandchildren enjoying their gifts and time together.
So neat you got a new computer from your children! Definitely a gift that will keep on giving throughout the year as you use it to share your days with us.
betty
Happy ☺ New Year!!
