ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Compliment Day, which is a day to tell the people in our lives just how much we appreciate them.. Compliments are free and easy to give and receive. They make people happy and build trust. In the bustle of our daily lives, it is easy to start taking people for granted. Compliment Day attempts to change that by encouraging people to praise and acknowledge the little things there do for them.
Compliments should be sincere and heart felt and come from the heart. To give a genuine compliment find something you admire about the person you want to compliment. It could be a job well done, a skill they have, or something they have worn.
Compliments not only help to spread joy, they also create bonds. Appreciating others creates an atmosphere of mutual admiration. Praise someone once or twice, and you are sure to get a compliment back too. Giving compliments not only make other people happy, the can make you happy, boost your self esteem and help you make friends.
Today is also Peanut Butter Day
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear…an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring… all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
Leo Buscaglia
I have to say that the greatest compliment I’ve ever received is when people tell me how great my kids are. It makes me feel as if I had some small part in helping to make them the wonderful people that they are. It warms my heart to know that I’m not the only one who thinks they are wonderful people.
In honor of today’s other holiday, Peanut Butter Day, I’d like to share a peanut butter recipe. Peanut Butter can be eaten and used in many different recipes. I love peanut butter and always have it on hand.
Reese’s Peanut Butter Fluff
8 oz.cream cheese
1 pkg. vanilla or chocolate instant pudding mix
1 1/2 c. milk
1 c. creamy peanut butter.
8 oz. Cool Whip.
25 Reece’s miniatures, halved
3/4 c. mini chocolate chips
Beat cream cheese with pudding mix until smooth. Slowing add milk 1/4 c. at a time.Add the peanut butter and mix until well combined. Fold in Cool Whip until mixture is creamy and smooth. Fold in Reese’s candies and chocolate chips.
Cover and chill for at least 2 hours. Serve with apple slices or graham crackers. Makes about 20 servings.
This a great recipe to have on hand hand for Super Bowl Sunday which is coming up on February 3rd.
Don’t forget that I think you are all wonderful and you are important to me! Thank you for being my friend.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!

ADVICE FOR TODAY
Sincere compliments cost nothing and can accomplish so much. In any relationship, they are the applause that refreshes.
Steve Goodier
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Be the applause that refreshes, compliments make a difference.
I'm going to give you a compliment today, Ma. You produce 2 great blogs! Always enjoy reading what you share here.
Our pastor loves peanut butter. When I first heard today was national peanut butter day I thought of him and wondered how he was going to "celebrate" it. I too love peanut butter but haven't had it in a long time. Tasty, but lots of calories.

Aw, Betty took the words right out of my mouth! Thank you for being such a faithful friend!
I, too, love peanut butter … but it's been a very long time since I indulged. Why? Because I can't stop!!! (lol) My preferred way to eat it is refrigerated, straight-up on a previously-frozen tablespoon. Your recipe sounds pretty darn delicious … novel, too. Not something like everyone else makes.
