ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is I’m Not Going to Take it Anymore Day which is a day to let it all out. Upset with the traffic, or the never ending dreary weather, or your cable TV customer service, or that you didn’t get what you wanted for Christmas? Well this holiday encourages you to do something about it.
You could go in late to avoid the traffic or book yourself a vacation to somewhere warm and sunny. Or go to the mall and get yourself the gift you wanted.
Getting back to being relaxed and feeling in control is priceless.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Realize that if you have time to whine and complain about something then you have the time to do something about it.
Anthony J. D'Angelo
There is a lot we can’t control in our lives but we can control our attitude to what happens. No sense in letting things get to you. It’s our choice. If you cannot change what happens, you can always change your attitude towards it.
One of my sons used to go in an hour early to work every morning so that he could avoid the heavy traffic and that meant that he could also come home an hour earlier, but not everyone can do that. Most have set times to work and have to endure the traffic.
These days I really have little to complain about. I’m pretty much the master of what I want to do and when. But I have learned that complaining gets you no where but leaves you feeling upset and angry. Why complain when you can do something about it.
For me life is too short to be anything but happy. I don’t have time for anger, worry or doubt. I’m happy with who I am and what I have. Remember: You always have other options. YAHOO! The time spent complaining could be used to solve problems.
Today I’ll continue to put away Christmas. I got a good start yesterday. I also have laundry to do and will be begin some much needed house cleaning. Along with the decorations, I also have some seasonal shirts and sweaters that need to be stored away for another year. There is truly never a dull moment here at my house!
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
All happy people are grateful. Ungrateful people cannot be happy. We tend to think that being unhappy leads people to complain, but it’s truer to say that complaining leads to people becoming unhappy.
Dennis Prager
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6679. for having nothing to complain about
6680. for another day to get things right
6681. for options, we all have them
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
What you’re supposed to do when you don’t like a thing is to change it. If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it. Don’t complain.
Maya Angelou
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

In my eagerness to get started today, I forgot to make this post, I really thought I had done it until one of my sons called wondering what had happened. So it's better later than sorry...Happy Monday!
Yes, attitude is everything, isn't it. I like your son's idea about going to work an hour earlier... my husband had the same attitude. He loved the quiet and productiveness of working when everyone else was still not there.
How nice to be missed (your one son calling and wondering what happened to your daily post). You are very important to him, obviously. That's love!
Your first three paragraphs are SO good! Aside from booking that sunny vacation, these distractions/solutions/what-have-you, are certainly achievable ….. and every now and then it's good to feel like we're in control.
So true the time complaining can be better used to try to fix the problem we are complaining about. I did wonder why your post wasn't in my feed when it usually was. I'm glad your son called to check up on you and it.

Mustn't grumble! One of my favorite songs by Chas & Dave! Lovely post, you have the BEST attitude.😊
