ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is World Animal Day which is an international day of action for animal rights and welfare celebrated annually on October 4, in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures. It’s a customary time when animals are led to churches for a special ceremony called the Blessing of the Animals.
World Animal Day is a time to celebrate and appreciate our relationship with the animals that share our planet and the ways in which they enrich our lives.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Bless the beasts and the children
For in this world they have no voice
They have no choice.
The animals in our lives do make a big difference. From domestic pets to farm animals and those in the wild or in a zoo, they are all appreciated and valued. My grand dogs are the animals in my life and certainly add a lot joy to my life and I’m thankful for them.
Mid week seems to be a good time to reevaluate what’s been done and what still needs to be done for me. If I’m not careful the days will slip by before I know it.
The temps continue to be above average here with a slight chance of rain in the forecast for today. We’ll see...
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s Taco Day
Tacos are the Mexican equivalent of a sandwich. Instead of bread, a hard or soft tortilla is wrapped or folded around a spicy filling. There are many possible combinations. Start with a base filling of beef, chicken, fish, seafood, beans, or vegetables, and then mix and match your toppings. Try your favorite combination of sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, chopped tomato, onion, salsa, and cheese for a tasty treat that’s great for sharing.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
Cecile Frances Alexander
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5314. for the animals in our lives
5315. for Tacos, always good
5316. for lots to do, never a boring day here
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Things A Dog Can Teach Us
Author Unknown
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When you leave your yard, make it an adventure.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
Be loyal.
Run, romp and play daily.
Bond with your pack.
When you’re excited, speak up.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you’re scolded, don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout…run right back and make friends.
When it’s in your best interest, practice obedience.
Let others know when they’ve invaded your territory.
Take naps and stretch before rising.
Never pretend to be something you’re not.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
On cold nights, curl up in front of a crackling fire.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

We should take more lessons from dogs, they sure appreciate life. Love all kinds of tacos.

I saw in this morning's newspaper that it was Taco Day, and I was kinda sorry I'd already planned baby back ribs for dinner... :) We might not eat them today, but SOON!
Our pets have always added a special sparkle to our lives and our home. People who live animal-less lives don't know what they're missing. And after reading that list, I've gotta say, the world would be a better place if we all acted more like dogs. (Except for that butt-smelling stuff...)
That's one beautiful grand-dog you've got there! :)
I was just telling another blogger, regardless how much I love our pups - it still feels inadequate compared to the love they give us.
