ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Wear Something Gaudy Day is your chance to really stick out in a crowd.
The word gaudy refers to something bright, gay, cheap, showy, outlandish, or otherwise not in good taste.
Have a little fun on this day. For just one day, forego fashion and style. Look for something to wear that's really wild and wacky, and will stick out like a sore thumb wherever you go.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came,—
The Ashes, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The sunshine spread a carpet,
And every thing was grand;
Miss Weather led the dancing;
Professor Wind, the band....
The sight was like a rainbow
New-fallen from the sky....
George Cooper
I like to wear fun clothing and have some I save just for October. Many have Halloween themes but some just have colorful leaves on them for fall, so this is one day I can celebrate for sure. I also like sparkly things and think that a little glitter or sequins add a lot to a shirt. People probably think I’m gaudy most of the time, not just today.
With the days staying darker out longer and longer, I like to brighten up things a bit and often wear colorful clothing to brighten things up a bit. Yellows, oranges, and reds are my favorite colors. I’ve had all of them a good long time, but since they are seasonal they will probably last for my lifetime anyway.
I took a few pictures when going through the park the other day of some Antique cars that were out on the road. They were putting on quite a show for all to see and that is what the pictures are of today.
The weather is supposed to be sunny and bright but still on the cool side here. I hope to get back into Santa’s workshop and continue my many projects.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is National Pasta Day. Choose your favorite pasta shape, there's over 600 of them, add your favorite sauce, and chow down! For many of us, the first sauce that comes to mind is red tomato spaghetti sauce. There's plenty other sauces and toppings to choose from, including alfredo sauce, clam sauce, and cheese sauce, to name a few.
Pasta was introduced into the United States through the travels of Thomas Jefferson, who brought it back from Naples, Italy in 1789.
As it is getting close to Halloween, I thought I’d share my favorite recipe for Spaghettini and Eye Balls with you all.
Spaghetti and Eye Balls
2 lbs lean ground beef
1 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 eggs
1 teaspoon dried basil
7 ounces pimento stuffed olives
26 ounces prepared pasta sauce
1 lb. spaghetti
1 tablespoon olive oil
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the ground beef, bread crumbs, ketchup, eggs and basil in large bowl. Using the meat mixture, for about 30 small meatballs
To make the eyeballs press an olive into each meatball, pimiento side out. Place the eyeballs in baking dish, cover with sauce and bake 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti, drain and rinse and toss with a tablespoon of olive oil to prevent strands from sticking together. Put on a platter or in a large serving bowl.
Spoon the eyeballs onto spaghetti with the olive side up and spoon cause around them.
Will serve about 10
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Of all God's gifts to the sighted man, color is holiest, the most divine, the most solemn.
John Ruskin
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5353. for bright colors
5354. for lovely fall days
5355. for fun foods to make for the grand kids
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
How beautifully leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days.
John Burroughs
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Those are good looking cars! What a delight to "stumble" upon them! It is fun to wear gaudy clothes a times, especially around a fun event like Halloween!

I think Halloween brings out the child in all of us! What a fun g'ma you are for the little ones!
Yellow, orange and red sound like they suit you ... happy colors.
