ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Grouch Day which is a special day for all the grouchy people out there to celebrate their way of life. Grouches are typically miserable, grumpy, and irritable. They thrive off of others’ misfortunes, and only then are they happy.
This day also gives all the normally chipper people a day to complain for once! For those everyday grouches, here are a few ways to live a happier life: do a fun or silly activity, allow yourself only five minutes of negative time, do something to benefit others, or enjoy some healthy foods.
It takes a lot of work from the face to let out a smile, but just think what good smiling can bring to the most important muscle of the body... the heart.

Let's face it, the only cute grouch is Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
No matter how grouchy you’re feeling,
You’ll find the smile more or less healing.
It grows in a wreath
All around the front teeth—
Thus preserving the face from congealing.
Anthony Euwer
We all have times that we are grouchy, but most of us don’t stay that way. We let go of what ever it is that has made us a grouch and move on.
To me being grouchy is a waste of time. Life is too short to be anything but happy.
One of the best ways I know of to get out of a bad mood is to count my blessings. You can’t help but be happy when you think about just how blessed you really are. Gratitude makes us happier.
Many of us get caught up in all the bad things going on and forget to see the good that is all around us. They are there if we take the time to look.
Today’s pictures are a few from my photo album showing lots of smiling faces!
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
REMEMBER:
Every day you spend without a smile, is a lost day.

WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s Chicken Cacciatore Day! The dish is relatively quick and easy to make, quite nutritious, and the recipe can easily be multiplied to serve more if needed.
Here is a simple but delicious recipe:
EASY CHICKEN CACCIATORE
1 1/2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken pieces
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 can Italian style stewed tomatoes
1 sm. can sliced mushrooms
1 c. sliced zucchini
Brown chicken in oil 10 minutes, turning occasionally; drain. Add tomatoes, mushrooms and zucchini. Cover and simmer 25 minutes. Serve over pasta. Serves 4.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Make two grins grow where there was only a grouch before.
Elbert Hubbard
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5347. for thankfulness, it makes the world brighter
5348. for prayers, they are always answered
5349. for chicken, makes a great Sunday dinner
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY

So true to remedy grouchiness is to count one's blessings. Choosing to be happy is indeed the good way to go.

I like the suggestion to allow oneself 5 minutes (for instance) of 'negative time' ... then move on, move on down the road!
I'd always heard of chicken cacciatore, but never knew what it was. We love chicken!
