ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is International Frugal Fun Day which is a day to enjoy fun activities that are free or very inexpensive. If you use your imagination, the ideas are endless. Go on a bike ride or walking hike. The Fall leaves are on display. Have a picnic in the park, or your back yard. Invite some friends or neighbors over for a garage party and dance. Go fly a kite. Pull out the those old board games or puzzles that you have stored in the basement. Play cards with some friends.
Here's wishing you a very Happy Frugal Fun Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You find the fun and - SNAP - the job's a game!
Pamela Lyndon Travers
It’s looking to be a good day here to get outside for some fun. The huge tree in front of the house has started to change color but the oak trees on either side are still pretty much green.
Enjoying the beauty of nature is all it takes for me to have some fun. However I’ll probably take the opportunity with the nice weather to mulch up some more leaves.
Friday I cooked up a pot of chicken and rice in the slow cooker, so I won’t have to cook all weekend. I love having leftovers to heat up.
So far this week I’ve not had the air conditioning on but today is to be mid 80’s so it may become a necessity in order to be comfortable.
The flowers and herbs in my plant stands on the carport are continuing to delight me and the begonia plants are still blooming. I’ve plans to take them all indoors on the sunporch before the frost hits. I don’t know just how well they’ll do but we will see...
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday! Have some fun!
If you never did, you should. These things are fun, and fun is good.

WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Frappe Day! The frappe is a chilled foam covered coffee drink that originated in Greece in the 1950s. Today, there are many different variations of this refreshing beverage.
In the United States, frappes are usually made with coffee, milk, ice, vanilla ice cream, and sugar combined in a blender. In other parts of the world fruit frappes are popular.
Some people pronounce it frap while others say frah-pay, but everyone can agree on the satisfying taste of this cool, creamy coffee treat. Make your own frappe today to celebrate National Frappe Day!
Easy Homemade Caramel Frappe
1 cup strong, good quality coffee, frozen into cubes
1/2 cup milk
3 tablespoons sugar or more to taste
2 tablespoons caramel syrup
whipped cream and caramel syrup for top
Place all ingredients except whipped cream in blender. Blend until ice cubes are crushed. If you have trouble getting it thoroughly blended, let it sit for a couple of minutes and try again.
Top with whipped cream and drizzle with caramel syrup.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5323. for a beautiful day for outdoor fun

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY

Lots of leaves you'll be raking or mulching, but pretty where you live! I too like leftovers. That's what we do these days; cook something that lasts a few days so we're only cooking about 3 times a week and then heating up the other days. I agree, there are lots of ways to find frugal fun, parks, taking a walk, going to the mall and window shopping, etc.

That's sure a magnificent tree!
I've never tried making a Frappe and it's a little late in my "today" -- but we do have an old ice-cube tray and an unopened bottle of caramel syrup someone gave us for Christmas. Hmmm .....
