ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is World Food Day was first launched in 1945. The reason World Food Day was created was to celebrate the launch of the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organisation.
The main principle which World Food Day celebrates is the furtherance of food security all over the world, especially in times of crisis. The launch of the Food and Agriculture Organisation by the UN has played a huge role in taking this worthy goal forward. Its annual celebration serves as a marker of the importance of this organization and helps to raise awareness of the crucial need for successful agriculture policies to be implemented by governments across the world to ensure there is ample food available for everyone.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you have much, give of your wealth; if you have little, give of your heart.
Arabian Proverb
Food is important for all of us. I’m blessed to be able to have more than enough. My cupboards and fridge are well stocked and if I needed to there is plenty to survive on for several weeks. But not everyone is as fortunate and it’s good to share with others.
Our church collects food for the poor and along with other churches in our area they take turns providing hot meals for those in need. Our city and county have food banks for those in need as well as many others. With the great supply of food in the world there is really never a reason that anyone should go hungry.
If we cannot do a lot, at least we can do a little and every little bit counts, it makes a difference. Never feel that you can’t make a difference, because you can.
This morning is a chilly one and the week ahead looks to be cooler than what we’ve been experiencing but by the weekend they say we’ll be warming back up in the 70’s. We really have had a nice beginning to fall with temps above average.
We had quite a windy day yesterday with a little rain and all the leaves from the neighbors yards seem to have blown into mine. I’m thinking that today I may have to get out and mulch the leaves again. It’s easier than raking and is supposed to be good for the grass too.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!

It's good to be blessed. It's better to be a blessing.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5350. for a well stocked cupboard
5351. for those who share with others
5352. for my lawn mower that also mulches leaves
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give.

Our leaves haven’t yet fell.....just a smattering of trees such as the cottonwood in the yard behind us. I love the shape of them and when they fall, it looks like paper!
The leaves are so pretty when they are changing and they provide good exercise however one cleans them up, mulching or raking them. Glad the weather is cooperating too in your efforts to keep up with the leave removal!

It's hard, sometimes, to grasp that some of our own citizens go to bed hungry.
Just last week some of us from work volunteered at the State Fair, collecting canned goods for St. Mary's Food Bank. I returned to a "thank you" e-mail this morning, stating they took in nearly 34,000 pounds of food.
