Today is Martin Luther King Day. Born on January 15, 1929, Martin Luther King Jr. grew to become one of the greatest Social Activists the world has ever known. At 35, he became the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace prize. He was assassinated on April 4, 1968 while making a speech from the balcony of his hotel room in Memphis, Tennessee.
His birthday became a National Holiday by an act of Congress in 1983. Many consider it a day to serve your community.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
We cannot all be great like Martin Luther King was, but we can all be loving when it comes to how we treat others. Sometimes it does take a lot of faith to do what is right. But if we know in our hearts the right thing to do, then we should.
I think that hating anyone is a waste of time. There are so many other things we can do with our time that is so much more valuable. There is a lot we can do for others that will make a difference too. A hug, a smile, a pat on the back for a job well done, makes a difference.
We need to be kind to others. In this busy world people become self consumed and forget that kindness goes a long way. Kindness is never a waste of time.
The pictures today are of some of the wonderful family times we had this past weekend.
I hope this new day is off to a great start for all of you ! Happy Monday !
Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you,the giver.

COUNTING MY GIFTS
I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2414. for kindnesses shared
2415. for great people that inspire us
2416. for hugs and smiles !
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

Great pictures of your family time together Ma! So true that we can be kind to people that God puts in our paths and so true too not to waste the time hating someone but try to love them just as they are.
