Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Chocolate Cake Day. This holiday is a chocolate lovers delight, and a day to eat cake. Why this a day to bake your chocolate cake and eat it, too!
On this day, a white or yellow cake will not do. Nor, will part chocolate, part white suffice. It must be chocolate, all chocolate. You can make milk chocolate, dark chocolate, fudge, or any other type of chocolate cake.Let's face it, a nice creamy chocolate cake does a lot for a lot of people; it does for me.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A day without chocolate is a day without sunshine.
Chocolate cakes are not always my favorite but I did find a new recipe to share with you all today. It’s a Chocolate Coffee cake with a peanut butter cup topping that sounds wonderful and definitely on my list to make.
Chocolate Coffee Cake
Crumb topping
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of butter, cold and cut into small pieces
1 bag of miniature Peanut Buter cups, about 2 cups when crumbled
crumble up the PB cups - set aside
combine the flour and sugar
add the butter, and mix until you have pea size crumbs
stir this into the PB cups
For the coffee cake
2 cups of flour
2/3 cup of cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 stick of butter, softened
1 cup of sugar
3 eggs
1 1/4 cups of sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt - set aside
in the bowl of a stand mixer cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes
add the eggs one at a time, scraping the bowl after each addition
add the vanilla
add the flour and sour cream a little at a time
spread the batter in a greased 9×9 baking pan
cover with the crumb topping
bake at 350 for 40 minutes
cool on a kitchen rack, the cake cuts best when completely cool
Chocolate and peanut butter are a great combination.
I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I never met a piece of chocolate I didn’t like.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2438. for chocolate and cake, what a great combination
2439. for a snow angel who snow blowed the front part of the drive yesterday
2440. for another excuse to turn the oven on. Baby it’s cold outside.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Put eat chocolate at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Stay warm today if you can, Ma! I hear the east is being plummetted with bad weather! Yum on the chocolate cake! Usually I enjoy it unless it is a little dry. That recipe you shared is definitely a keeper to try down the road!
Glad you had someone help you with snow removal yesterday. I'm sure it can be tedious with the amount of snow you can get!
