Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Hugging Day. What a great day! This is an opportunity to give and to receive. Hugs are loving. Hugs are therapeutic. Hugs are caring. Hugs are celebratory. Hugs make you feel good inside.
National Hug Day falls on January 21st each year because it marks a midpoint between Christmas and Valentines Day when people tend to be at an emotional low.Celebrate today by giving hugs to family, friends and loved ones. You'll love the warm feeling you get.
It's time to reach out and hug somebody!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A HUG a DAY keeps the doctor away !
A hug can speak louder than words. A simple hug can change a person's day, emotions and even their life. In my life I have experienced a lot of different types of hugs. I have gotten the warm hug that goes on forever. I have gotten the bear hug that squeezes the air right out of you. I have gotten the neck hug where the little child jumps in your arms and wraps lovingly around your neck. I have gotten the back slapper hug where the hugger gives you the bam, bam on the back. I have even gotten the leg hug which toddlers all over the world use to melt your heart.
Studies have shown that human contact is essential for healthy social, psychological and physical development. Babies who receive regular physical contact gain weight and grow faster than those who are neglected. Researchers trying to discern what promotes happiness have found that physical contact is an integral part of being cheered up, validated, lowering stress levels and just plain old reminding ourselves that we’re human and get a lot from interacting with others.
Sometimes all you need to brighten a gloomy day is a big old bear hug. Any day is a good day for a hug, but on a cold, late January day, a good, warm hug is more than welcome
Here’s a big (((Hug))) to all of you! I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
A single hug can warm a hundred hearts. Hugs like love, joy, laughter, and smiles travel from heart to heart and from soul to soul until they circle the world. They make us more like the angels and Earth more like Heaven. They help us to give lessons in God's love and wisdom each time we simply open our arms and wrap them around another.

COUNTING MY GIFTS
A Simple Hug
There's something in a simple hug
That always warms the heart;
It welcomes us back home
And makes it easier to part.
A hug's a way to share the joy
And sad times we go through,
Or just a way for friends to say
They like you 'cause you're you.
Hugs are meant for anyone
For whom we really care,
From your grandma to your neighbor,
Or a cuddly teddy bear.
A hug is an amazing thing
It's just the perfect way
To show the love we're feeling
But can't find the words to say.
It's funny how a little hug
Makes everyone feel good;
In every place and language,
It's always understood.
And hugs don't need new equipment,
Special batteries or parts
Just open up your arms
And open up your hearts.
