THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Happy Birthday to YOU♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪ Happy Birthday to you♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪Happy Birthday dear ones ! ♪♫•*¨*•.¸¸♥ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪Happy Birthday to you♥ ♥ ♥
My youngest son and this granddaughter were born on the same day only 20 years apart. They are very dear to my heart as is all my family. This will be a long distance celebration though. Cards went out to both of them with lots of love !
Jan 20th, is also the International Day of Acceptance. It’s is a day set aside to celebrate life, namely the lives of people with disabilities. To accept people with disabilities. To embrace them. Not to wish that they were more like us. Not to feel sorry for them. Not to ignore their disability. But to fully accept them and to fully accept their disability. To embrace them exactly like they are, for it’s their disability that makes them the person they are.
Accepting others as they are, disabled or not, isn’t always easy. To accept someone is to show respect for and validation of who they are, what they do, and for the life and path they chose. It by no means agreeing with or approving of anything about another. You don’t have to like it. Yet, you can always accept it as being a part of everything that is.
We cannot change how others think and feel. Everyone is entitled to their point of view. I’ve learned that spending enormous amounts of time trying to change others is a waste of time. Accepting others as they are without judgment is the fastest way to achieve peace and harmony in your own life.
The thing I most have to accept this week is snow. It seems that is what we have in store for us this week. Take good care everyone and keep warm!
I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!
Daily Acceptance Prayer
Author Unknown
I accept myself completely.
I accept my strengths and my weaknesses,
my gifts and my shortcomings,
my good points and my faults.
I accept myself completely as a human being.
I accept that I am here to learn and grow,
and I accept that I am learning and growing.
I accept the personality I've developed, and
I accept my power to heal and change.
I accept myself without condition or reservation.
I accept that the core of my being is goodness
and that my essence is love,
and I accept that I sometimes forget that.
I accept myself completely, and in this acceptance
I find an ever deepening inner strength.
From this place of strength, I accept my life fully and
I open to the lessons it offers me today.
I accept that within my mind are both fear and love,
and I accept my power to choose which I will experience as real.
I recognize that I experience only the results of my own choices.
I accept the times that I choose fear
as part of my learning and healing process, and
I accept that I have the potential and power
in any moment to choose love instead.
I accept mistakes as a part of growth,
so I am always willing to forgive myself and
give myself another chance.
I accept that my life is the expression of my thought,
and I commit myself to aligning my thoughts
more and more each day with the Thought of Love.
I accept that I am an expression of this Love.
Love's hands and voice and heart on earth.
I accept my own life as a blessing and a gift.
My heart is open to receive, and I am deeply grateful.
May I always share the gifts that I receive
fully, freely, and with joy.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Life is a gift from God and we should cherish every moment He gives us.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2417. for my youngest son and our Princess, it’s their birthday today !
2418. for the differences in each one of us that make us who we are
2419. for another day of life
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !

Happy birthday to your granddaughter and your son, Ma! Neat that they share a birthday! I like the idea of having a national acceptance day; we do need to learn to accept others and their differences if we expect to get along well together in our lives!

Great post! We all long for acceptance, don't we? I'm glad you had a fun weekend. Even tho it was busy, it was filled with family, and love. The best kind of busy ever!

Happy Birthday to your son and granddaughter. I hope they both had lovely days. I like the idea of a National Day of Acceptance! With a developmentally challenged daughter I know the struggles some people face. I think the Special Olympics does a really super job of helping challenged people succeed in areas that they never felt they could. I am truly grateful for the program! Hope you have a fabulous Wednesday! xoxo
Happy Birthdays all around... :)
