THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.
Oprah Winfrey
Like the New Year, new beginnings are wonderful. To let go of whatever was in the past and enjoy today, the present moment to the fullest is a goal or resolution we could all adapt. The New Year marks a new beginning. New people to meet, new adventures to enjoy and new memories to create.
I’m very blessed to have some family coming over today for dinner to help me welcome in this New Year. Our traditional pork and sauerkraut dinner dates back to my childhood. My dad said it would bring good luck.
As we begin the journey of this New Year, let's determine to make it a greater year than ever before. I decided that instead of setting myself up for failure with New Year resolutions that are doomed to fizzle out, that I would think more about creating a bucket list for the new year.
Tell loved ones they are loved and appreciated often
Give more
Visit somewhere new. Near or far. I don’t travel a lot, but I want to visit two new places this year!
Eat good food. Cook a new meal every week for a year
Be healthy, be happy. I think happy people are healthier
Make something myself. I want to do more crafty things this year.
Play more. It’s good for the soul.
Make every day an adventure. Even if our days are ordinary, I think they can still be adventurous!
Wishing you all a joyful journey into the New Year, Enjoy the Ride !
And I said to the one who stood at the gate of the year, Give me a light that I may tread safely into the Unknown.
And he replied, Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.
Minnie Haskins
COUNTING MY GIFTS
We meet today
To thank Thee for the era done,
And Thee for the opening one.
John Greenleaf Whittier
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2360. for having some one to celebrate New Year’s Day with
2361. for my faith and all my family and friends that made 2014 a wonderful year
2362. for a year of health and happiness, smiles and laughter
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
A happy New Year! Grant that I
May bring no tear to any eye
When this New Year in time shall end
Let it be said I've played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here,
And made of it a happy year.
Edgar Guest
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Happy new year, Ma. We growing up always had sauerkraut and pork chops on new years day. Great tradition. Enjoy!
