Life is a Special Occasion!

Hair raising news ! January 9th is Static Electricity Day. Grab your balloons and sweaters! It’s time to build up your static charge and conduct some electrons. This is the perfect holiday to occur in the dead of winter, when the air is extra dry. The optimal conditions for storing up those negative charges that shock you at the most unexpected times.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Enthusiasm is the electricity of life. How do you get it?
You act enthusiastic until you make it a habit.
Gordon Parks
We’ve all had it happen when we least expect it. You are busy at work, at home or at school, minding your own business, when bam, you get shocked. Whether you touch another person or an inanimate object, it can be a shocking experience for sure! During the winter months, it is often hard to avoid. And every once in a while, it can even make your hair stand straight up!
Last year I read about the benefits of vinegar and one article said that putting just a quarter cup of vinegar in your laundry would reduce static electricity. I’m going to try it out this year. I hate it when things cling to you and won’t hold their shape.
It’s certainly been cold enough this week to dry out the house. Thankfully the furnace is holding it’s own. It was about this time last year when I had to call for repairs. Hopefully that won’t happen this year.
It’s also the time of year to think about turning the humidifier on. I have a brand new one that sat in the box last year as I’d almost forgotten I had it, today is at the day to bring it out. The additional humidity will help eliminate colds, keep static electricity away, and make you feel warmer.
Remember: Think Spring !
I hope you all don’t have many shocks today. Keep warm and have a fantastic Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: it must be produced and discharged and used up in order to exist at all.
William Faulkner
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2384. for the benefits of vinegar
2385. for static fun
2386. for a brand new humidifier waiting to be used
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Faith is like electricity. You can't see it, but you can see the light.

We bought a humidifier last week because it was so dry inside the house with the cold we had and the heater running almost all the time. It really did help to make things a bit more "moist" here. Hopefully you guys will warm up a bit soon!
