ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

Life is a Special Occasion!

January 30 has never been butter, it's National Croissant Day! You can’t have a continental breakfast without a pastry or piece of bread, so today, enjoy a fluffy, flaky croissant on your plate. Croissants, at their prime, are served warm with butter and jam. They can be sweet, savory or plain. A sweet croissant might have chocolate baked into the pastry, while a savory croissant might be filled with ham and cheese, or bacon and onions.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I love having a croissant and a great cup of coffee. Just one cup.
Marcus Samuelsson
I have to say that I really never stop at one cup of coffee, but I do love croissants and one of my favorite ways to enjoy them is to cut one in two and put a slice of ham and swiss cheese inside and warm it up in the oven. I used to find sandwich size croissants easily, but not so much any more. The ones I’ve found recently have been small.
I also love bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. Mmmm good. And if you have some chicken salad handy, all you need is to put some on a croissant and you have a meal. I’ve even had glazed croissants which I found at a bakery in the donut section. Any way you serve them they are good.
Yesterday we had warmer weather with some rain, but before the day was over it started turning colder and now we’re headed back into the deep freeze and have more snow on the ground.
With February now right around the corner I’ve spent some time getting out the Valentine decorations here. So that is what my pictures are of today.
Hope you all have a fantastic Friday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
If you cannot be grateful for what you have received, then be thankful for what you have been spared.
Yiddish Proverb
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. Sometimes it seems as if I’m repeating a lot of things that I’m thankful for, but no moment is really ever the same and every day is a new beginning. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

Yep, Valentine's Day is in about 2 weeks! Cute decorations you are putting out, Ma! I like croissants; never saw a glazed one, will have to look for it. I do like the flaky taste of them :)
Have a good Friday, Ma!
