Life is a Special Occasion!

October 8, 2014 is National Fluffernutter Day. A Fluffernutter is a yummy sandwich made with bread, peanut butter, and marshmallow fluff. It is now a classic American treat enjoyed in school cafeterias, college dorms, and local diners nationwide.
This week is World Space Week & Fire Prevention Week

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Man cannot live by bread alone; he must have peanut butter.
James A. Garfield
I’ve never had a Fluffernuter Sandwich but I may have to try one out in honor of today. I did find a recipe that includes peanut butter and marshmallow so I thought I’d share it with you all today.
No Bake Peanut Butter Marshmallow Squares
makes one 9 by 13 pan
2 cups creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 11-ounce bag butterscotch morsels
2 10.5-ounce bags mini marshmallows
Heat a large pot over low heat and add peanut butter, butter and butterscotch chips. Constantly stir until totally melted, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool for about 10 more minutes.
Fold in marshmallows until evenly coated and distributed. Some may melt, and that’s fine. Spray a 9 by 13 pan with nonstick spray, then spread mixture in the pan. Let sit at room temperature for a few hours to firm up, or place in the fridge.
Baring cloud cover we’ll be seeing the full moon for October tonight. Native American tribes referred to this Moon as the Full Hunter's Moon, as it was the time to go hunting in preparation for winter. This full Moon is also called the Travel Moon and the Dying Grass Moon. And there is a total lunar eclipse. The eclipse will be fully visible from Western North America and Alaska and Hawaii, but observers in Eastern North America will only be able to see part of the eclipse before the Moon sets below the horizon.
The pictures today are of some colorful green beans I found at the farmers road side stand last week. They looked great for celebrating fall, but sad to say the purple beans turned green, shown in the last picture, after I cooked them. Still they were very good !
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
I see the moon, the moon sees me
The moon sees somebody I want to see
So, God bless the moon and God bless me
And God bless the 'Somebody' I want to see
77 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Simplify your holiday decorating by using a gold tablecloth. A gold tablecloth graces October's stacked apples, then serves as a base for Halloween's candy corn table runner. After October 31, roll up the runner and substitute small pilgrim candles. Come December, replace the centerpiece with a colorful mound of shiny glass ornaments in a clear bowl. Keep it simple and make it fun !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Happiness is, toast with peanut butter...
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

Oh, I'm going to make those squares for the grands... I am babysitting two of them tomorrow night. Thanks for the recipe!
I too haven't had a Fluffernutter sandwich, but they do seem interesting. That was interesting how the purple beans turned green with cooking, but what a pretty assortment! I will look forward to seeing the moon tonight :)
Hope your Wednesday is a good one, Ma!
