THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A journey of a thousand sites begins with a single click.

For most people every day is an Internet day, I’m old enough to remember the days before the internet. The changes that have come our way due to the many uses of the internet are astounding. It’s hard to believe we ever got anything done without it, but we did! Maybe life was simpler then, but for me those simple days were the best.
It’s not that I don’t like the internet, I do! I use it a lot and am thankful for the many ways it keeps me in touch. In touch with my family and friends, in touch with the news, and even in touch with my daily meditations, Bible readings and inspiration too!
I no longer buy a book or a newspaper. Magazines other than the AARP no longer come in my mailbox. All the information I need is on line. I do miss those days of going to the library and wondering through the rows of books to find the next reading adventure. I miss the cross word puzzle in the newspaper and the daily comics too. I can read them all on line, so I do.
The good news is that I no longer have stacks of newspapers to put out for the recycling. I remember the days that the Cub Scouts used to have a big trailer placed in the church parking lot to collect newspapers for their yearly fund raiser. Don’t see that anymore.
Email has become a way of life for most people. Letters are no longer put in the mail. I’m guilty of that myself. I send emails as you all well know.
Enjoy the internet, but remember to be safe, watch out for the scammers and never give out any personal information on line.
The pictures today are some I’ve receive on line lately. I’ll have more for you tomorrow. I am thankful for them!
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
56 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
It’s time to get Advent Calendars. One of my favorite family traditions is counting down the days till Christmas on an Advent Calendar. Instead of candy, you can place an activity in each day of December. It really helps us to stay on track with all of the lovely things of the season.
COUNTING MY GIFTS

I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached over 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

All such cute pictures, Ma! So true about the newspaper bins that Scouts or other organizations would have over town. I haven't seen any in years either! I do like the convenience of the Internet, but you are right, there are other things I miss. I used to enjoy going to the library, but now can get so many free books online its easier just to download :)
