Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Make a Difference Day is always celebrated on the fourth Saturday in October. Initiated in 1990, this is a national day is for devoted to helping others by doing volunteer work in the community. The activity can be almost anything. On this day, millions of Americans participate in community improvement projects. It takes the form of cleanup, fixup, painting, and repair in poorer neighborhoods, parks and municipal facilities. It doesn't matter what project you take on. It doesn't matter whether you help a non profit organization, the community, your town, nursing home, a church, a food kitchen, or any other group in need. What matters is that you participate.
Make a commitment to help others for just one day. Make a difference on Make a Difference Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Kindness can transform someone's dark moment with a blaze of light. You'll never know how much your caring matters. Make a difference for another today.
Amy Leigh Mercree
I probably won’t be out and about making a difference today, but when I think about it, we can all make a difference in our world every day by the little kindness that we do. A smile, a kind word and a hug can all make a difference in someone’s life.
Making a difference doesn’t mean doing something that’s going to change the world. You can do things that make a difference for yourself, your family and friends, and your community. It doesn’t matter how big or small it is, the point is that you’re making an effort to make someone’s life a little better and to make people happy. The best thing you can do for people is be kind because when you’re kind, it makes you happy and it shows! Your happiness makes other people happy too. There's many things that we can do and it starts with in our hearts.
I hope you all have a super Saturday!
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.

Christmas Blessings Mix Poem
Bugles: Bring us the joyful message of the Heavenly Host, announcing peace on earth, good will to men.
Pretzels: Symbol of a mother's loving arms; as Mary wrapped her Son in swaddling clothes and laid him in the manger.
Red Hots: Red berries that decorate the holly plant, a reminder of eternal life and Christ's redemption.
Nuts or seeds: Promise of a a future harvest, one we will reap only if seeds are planted and tended with diligence.
Dried fruits: Remind us of the rich gifts brought by the Wise Men.
M&Ms: Memories of those who came before us to guide us to a blessed future.
Hershey's Kiss: The love of family and friends that sweetens our lives.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
It's good to be blessed. It's better to be a blessing.

I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

You make a difference to me, Ma!
I don't always say so, but there've been several occasions in the last few weeks at my workplace where I've had to mentally revisit your blog. :)
The Christmas Blessings mix sounds like a super idea for our neighbors and my hairdresser!
YOu make a difference to me too Pam! I sure wish I could make that Christmas Mix. We cannot get half of the ingredients here, but it sure sounds scrumptious. I think my neighbors would love something like this. I will have to think of something I could use to substute for the ingredients I cannot get! xxoo
