Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
October 19th is Evaluate Your Life Day. A day like today gives us the opportunity to pause and reflect upon our life, where it's been, and where its going. With a self evaluation, you can then make big changes to improve the quality of your life, as necessary. Or, if things are going well, just tinker with small adjustments.
Evaluate Your Life Day could be the beginning of a happier and healthier you!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The biggest room in the world, is the room for improvement
Author Unknown
It’s always good to do a little self evaluation. I’m always looking for ways to make improvements in my life. There is always something about ourselves we can improve on and little things can make a difference.
One thing I’ve found that has made a significant change for the better in my life, is to be thankful and keep a thankful list. Be grateful, and pass it on. If you focus on what you don’t have, you will be unhappy and attract negativity. Be grateful for what you have and you will be attract positivity, opportunity and success.
Another thing has been helpful, is to relinquish what you can’t control. Change what you can, and let go of the rest. Don’t waste your energy trying to control others. Focus on yourself. Most days I have all I can do just to keep my self on track.
I’m not perfect for sure, but I keep trying to do my best. If we take little steps every day, we can make great improvements in our lives.
Today is Sunday which is always my day for rest and relaxation. Don’t forget that one of the best things you can do for yourself is to take some time out for some renewal and refreshment. You can’t be much good for others if you aren’t first good to yourself.
I hope you all have a restful and relaxing Sunday!
The Pumpkin Prayer
Dear God,
As I carve my pumpkin help me say this prayer:
Open my mind so I can learn about You;
(Cut the top of the pumpkin)
Take away all my sin and forgive me for the wrong things I do.
(Clean out the inside)
Open my eyes so Your love I will see;
(Cut the eyes out in heart shapes)
I'm so sorry for turning up my nose to all you've given me.
(Cut a nose in the shape of a cross)
Open my ears so your word I will hear.
(Cut the ears shaped like the Bible)-we did rectangles
Open my mouth so I can tell others You're near
(cut the mouth in the shape of a fish)
Let Your light shine in all I say and do! Amen.
(Place a candle inside and light it)
66 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
If you are planning on doing any home improvements before the holidays, now is the time to do it. Here at my house, there is a little fall cleaning I’d like to get done. I’d like to take the curtains down and wash them and then clean the windows and the wood work too. These things have to be taken in baby steps for me. I move much more slowly these days so perhaps it is time I got started.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I've done a lot of self improvement. I'm always working on being a better person.
Joel Madden
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2141. for little things that make a big difference
2142. for Sunday dinner with some of my family
2143. for the sales on meat I found at the grocery store this week
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

That pumpkin prayer is great! I can't wait to share it with my granddaughter.
Thanks for the cue to 'rest and relax' today. Here, I didn't get much accomplished yesterday and I've been mentally beating myself up about what's left.
I liked all the pumpkin pictures, Ma, and the pumpkin prayer. It is always good for us to fine tune our lives and evaluate where we are going, if that's where we want to go, etc. I like there's a day set outside for it :)
Just about heading off for my Sunday afternoon nap :)
