Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
October 14th is Face Your Fears Day. Today is a great day to take a moment to consider what your life might be like if you conquered some of your greatest fears. What would you do differently? Face Your Fears Day gives you the chance to stand up to your fears, overcome them, and to seize the day.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Never fear shadows. They simply mean there's a light shining somewhere nearby.
Ruth E. Renkel
I really don’t have many fears at all these days. That’s not to say that I’ve never been afraid, but I have learned that being afraid is like worrying, it’s a pretty useless thing.
Fear is just a form of worrying about the future, rather than focusing on what is happening right now. It is always a good day to remove fear from our lives and start being positive again. It is time to think, act, and be in the present moment.
We can look at what happens around us with a genuine and faith filled trust toward that future that we cannot see.
With Halloween right around the corner, decorations and scary sights are very popular. It seems everyone likes making fun of being scared. Spooky nights have come with it getting darker earlier. Truth be told, I don’t go out much at night and feel safer and cozier right here at home. The pictures today are of our little Xfactor once again. His delightful Halloween costume stole the show this past weekend and he won first prize. Not everything about Halloween is scary.
I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!
71 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
The holidays just around the corner, so now's the time to make a quick check of bathroom supplies. Watch for sales on toilet paper, tissues, paper towels and soap. The season of coughs and sniffles will soon be upon us too so it’s good to make sure we have what’s needed.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
In God we Trust
Official motto of the United States
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2126. for my faith which puts a damper on any fears that come my way
2127. for Entemanns Pumpkin Donuts mmmm…good
2128. for a large head of cabbage which made several yummy dinners this week
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Overcoming fear and worry can be accomplished by living a day at a time or even a moment at a time. Your worries will be cut down to nothing.
Robert Anthony
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

WTG for XFactor winning first prize! That is a cute costume! So true, Ma, that fear is just another form of worrying. The Bible talks a lot about not being afraid and trusting God. I know I need to wrap my mind more around those scriptures and stop having some of the fears I have.
May it be a nice Tuesday for you!
betty
What an adorable costume Pam. I am not surprised he won first prize! He's a little cutie pie!
I am not really afraid of very much. I suppose I am afraid of cancer because it's quite prevalent in my family as well as heart disease, but what will be will be. I just place my arm in the strong arm of the Lord and trust in Him. Most of the time it works quite well, but we do all have our weak moments. Have a wonderful Wednesday! xxoo
So happy that he won first prize for that costume!
Our son always loved Halloween!
And he also won first prize for his Halloween costume one year!
It wasn't a scary one...he wanted to be a frog, so I had him wear green sweatpants with a bright green sweatshirt, drew a frog's face on a white paper plate and had one of those birthday blow out kind of horns to go through the mouth of the frog (and it was red)...
He wore that white plate with the frog's face like a mask over his own face and he won! Simple!
I totally stole that idea from a magazine but for years, he thought I made it up. I hated to dash his idea that he had a brilliant Mom! HA!
