Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
National Candy Corn Day is today. Enjoy a handful of this sweet Fall treat. And, what perfect timing. National Candy Corn Day comes just a day before Halloween. That means you can eat plenty of it, before you go out Trick or Treating.
Candy corn is enjoyed all year long. Place it in a candy dish any time of the year, and watch it disappear by the handful. By far, the vast majority of candy corn is consumed during the Fall months, with both Halloween and Thanksgiving being the biggest times to eat it.
Have a happy National Candy Corn Day.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Trick or Treat.
Be so sweet.
Give me something good to eat.
I’m pretty sure that I’ve mentioned it before, but one of my favorite treats for this time of year is a mixture of candy corn and dry roasted peanuts. I always have some on hand for when I get the munchies.
I did a little research on candy corn and found out the newest thing to do with it is to deep fry it. Take three to four pieces of candy corn, wrap them in refrigerated crescent dough and fry them until they’re golden on all sides and oozing in the center. I haven’t tried it but, it might be very good! Most things are good deep fried.
Our Trick or Treat Night is this evening. I won’t be handing out any candy corn but have snack size bags of chips, gold fish and pretzels to give out. I figured that if I didn’t hand out all the treats that these snacks would be better for me than leftover candy. We’re fortunate that it will be today and not Friday as the weather is looking very cold and wet here for the 31st.
The pictures today are of this years adventures in carving pumpkins for my Sunshine Boys! My goodness how they’ve grown! Tomorrow I’ll show some of DS#5’s crew doing the same.
I hope you all have a great day! Happy Thursday!
55 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
If fresh amaryillis is on your gift list, the time to start them is now! These bulbs will be at their best eight weeks after forcing, so start them today.
Forcing bulbs for Christmas blooms is easy and inexpensive, but it does take time.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
From ghoulish and ghosties and long leggety beasties and things that go bump in the night,
Good Lord, deliver us!
Scottish saying
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached over 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

What huge pumpkins they carved...such a fun activity for everyone.
Candy corn isn't such a popular treat up here in Canada but it is available at this time of year. I don't think I'd want to deep fry it though.
Sounds like you have a great treat to hand out to the trick or treaters that come your way, Ma! I'm not sure how many we will have tomorrow night; none for the past 2 years, so I told hubby just to get one bag of candy instead of the four we got last year :)
I haven't had candy corn in years, might get some. I think it would be interesting to try it deep fried :)
