Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
The third Saturday of October is Sweetest Day so I’d like to wish all my Sweeties a happy day! Sweetest Day exists as an opportunity for you to recognize that sweet and special someone. It doesn’t matter who that person is, or what their relation to you. They just have to be 'sweet' in order to get a little recognition.
In 1922 a Cleveland, Ohio philanthropist and candy company employee started Sweetest Day. He wanted to bring happiness to orphans, shut ins and under privileged. His intent was to show these people that they were not forgotten. It might be a good idea for us to follow the intent of the original holiday, and find ways to give candy and small gifts to those in need.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.
William James
Every day is a good day to recognize and appreciate those sweet people in our lives. I always try take the time to thank someone, and to honor my very special loved ones. Remember: a thoughtful word, deed or small gift enriches the life of the recipient as well as the person giving it.
When Sweetest Day is over and done, life will still present us with opportunities to give back. Each day gives us the chance to make someone’s day better. Perhaps even their life better. A good place to start is with your family. Take advantage of the endless opportunities to engage in small yet sweet acts, all in the name of love. Little things can often make the biggest impact.
I hope you all have a super sweet Saturday!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

67 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Brisk weather is on the way; time to clear out the coat closets! I have a small coat closet and believe me when I say it is packed. When guests come, I hang their coats on a clothes tree which is located in the dining room here at my house. Still it’s a great idea for me to give my packed closet some attention. There are a few jackets hanging in there that haven’t been worn for several years.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
How beautiful a day can be
When kindness touches it!
George Elliston
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2138. for all the very sweet people in my life
2139. for another day to say Thank You
2140. for the sweet treats that will be baking in my oven today
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
Leo Buscaglia
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Good idea to go through the coat closet and see if there is anything you can pass on, Ma. I did that last year when we were going to feed the homeless and realized how many coats I had that I hadn't worn in a bit so took them with me and all were gratefully taken. I like today being a sweets day. I may have to go and get a sweet treat for later :)
