Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
October 27th is Cranky Co-workers Day! Whether you work full time, part time, work from home or are retired, chances are pretty good you’ve worked with one or two cranky people before. All year you have dealt with them and their crankiness but today just let them be cranky and enjoy their misery. A brighter outlook says it's time to kill your cranky co-workers with kindness.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred days of sorrow.
Chinese Proverb
It’s true that we all have to deal with cranky people in our lives. Not only at work but at home or school too. I’ve never been a cheerful morning person until I wake up slowly and have that good cup of coffee, so some would say I’m a cranky person. I love waking up slowly, sipping my good cup of coffee in the quiet early mornings, but not in a crowd of people. When my family was home I’d get up an extra hour early just to have the time for myself. Once I had my hour I was ready to greet everyone with a smile. But had to have that ‘me’ time first.
One thing I know, maybe two is that you can’t fight anger with anger, it’s best just to give cranky people a lot of space and let them cool off. Dealing with angry people requires a good attitude, a lot of patience. Life can be crazy. People are just people, some can cope better than others, and some have been treated better than others. Angry people suffer. Be mindful of that, be kind, and always give them the benefit of the doubt.
We’re to start out the week with some warmer weather in the 70’s so I’m going to enjoy it while I can. The long range forecast says it’ll be much colder by the end of the week.
I hope you have a great start to this new week. Happy Monday!
58 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
It’s time to think about Holiday traditions. For many people, holiday movies are a part of childhood memories. Many of us enjoy sharing those traditions with our own children. A favorite here at our house this time of year was It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. I remember watching this with my own children and those memories bring back many happy thoughts!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness.
Author Unknown
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

Oh, MA... I needed this today... for every minute of anger, loss of 60 seconds of happiness... I am going to repeat that over and over. Thank you!
I would always get up earlier than the rest of the househoold too, Ma, I wake up quickly and ready to go, but I liked that "me time." We too had our holiday traditions that often included watching the movies associated with the various holidays :)
