If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Today is noted as United Nations Day to mark the anniversary of the United Nations charter, which went into effect on October 24, 1945. Organizations and schoolchildren throughout the world mark this day with meetings, discussions, and exhibits on the achievements and goals of the international body.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
United we stand, divided we fall
Motto
The basic concept is that unless the people are united, they will be defeated. I think most things are done better when we unite with others for a good cause. The United Nations organization does just that.
Working together with others takes team work. Helping someone to accomplish a task is a good feeling. Whether we are at home or at work having someone to share the workload is always a good thing.
Today’s pictures are of some Halloween fun times taken last year of our little Lucky guy. It won’t be long now and those little trick or treaters will be coming an knocking on my door. Here’s a few Halloween Safety tips that we won’t want to ignore
Plan costumes that are bright and reflective. Make sure that shoes fit well and that costumes are short enough to prevent tripping.
Obtain flashlights with fresh batteries for all children and their escorts
Candlelit pumpkins should be placed on a sturdy table, away from curtains and other flammable objects, and should never be left unattended. Consider using a flashlight or glow stick instead of a candle to light your pumpkin. If you do use a candle, a votive candle is safest.
A parent or responsible adult should always accompany young children on their neighborhood rounds.
Only cross the street as a group in established crosswalks Never cross between parked cars or out driveways.
Wait until children are home to sort and check treats. Though tampering is rare, a responsible adult should closely examine all treats and throw away any spoiled, unwrapped or suspicious items
Remember that the simple act of slowing down on neighborhood roads will not only make Halloween more enjoyable for everyone, but it could also save lives.
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday!
Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.

61 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Christmas magazines and catalogs are fabulous resources for seasonal decorating, gift ideas, and Christmas recipes so right now is a good time to start a file and as you see an idea you like simple clip it out and save it in a Holiday Idea file folder. You could have a separate folder for recipes and one for craft ideas and a third for decorating.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
In union there is strength.
Aesop
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for 2 years and have now reached 2000 gifts. On my way now to 3000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
