ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
NOBEMBER 27TH, 2009
It's FRIDAY…
It is also what is now being called Black Friday. It is one of the two busiest shopping days of the year. In case you didn't know, the other busiest shopping day is the day after Christmas
For many retailers, the Christmas holiday sales season represents one half to three quarters of their annual sales. So, Black Friday represents that turning point from a loss towards big profits!
DS#5 and #6, DDIL#5 and DD are joining me in our annual trek to our favorite craft show and a Candle factory which are located in a small town that is about 45 minutes away from here. We’ve gone there for many years now. We have alternated going to other places but find ourselves returning there. They have a great little restaurant there too where we always have lunch.
THINKING
November is the month when we remember all the things we are thankful for and the One that makes them possible
A God of Joy
I give you my praise, O Lord, because you have granted me eternal blessings and made me glad with the joy of your presence. . .
Psalm 21:6
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Yesterday I let you see the Thanksgiving table in my dining room, today I’m showing the Christmas table. The center of my table always holds the Advent wreath and this coming Sunday Advent does begin, so now I’m ready for it.
Each Sunday now I’ll be lighting a candle for each week of Advent which is the 4 weeks before Christmas.
ATTIRE FOR TODAY
Snow is in the forecast. They say little or no accumulation here but over east of us DS#3 and his family may see a little more. There is a covering of snow on the ground here this morning. We have enjoyed such a mild November that we
are really overdue for some cold weather. I doubt we’ll see many days in the 50’s now til Spring comes our way.
PRAYERS
Holy Spirit, please come into my heart and shed light on the areas that are out of order.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us
.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
Yesterday I spent the day decorating and getting out my month of Christmas sweaters and shirts. I love these colorful tops and have collected enough that I can wear a different one the whole month of December. Of course today I’ll have one on too as we’re going Christmas shopping. I’ll be sharing what I’m wearing as we count down the days in December.
