ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
NOBEMBER 25TH, 2009
It's WEDNESDAY…
OVER THE HUMP DAY AND …
GOING RIGHT INTO MY NICE LONG 4 DAY WEEKEND!
Yesterday I showed you the swing on the front porch so today I thought I’d show you my rocker on the back patio.
I know that a lot of people are preparing to cook that huge Turkey dinner right now for Thanksgiving Day tomorrow. I’m happy to say that I’ve already been there and done that and Thursday will be a much quieter day here at my house.
I stopped by the grocery store yesterday on my lunch hour to pick up a few things and found out that it was a good thing that I had fewer than 8 items and could go through the express lane. The shoppers were going out of there with cart loads of food to take home for the holiday.
THINKING
November is the month when we remember all the things we are thankful for and the One that makes them possible
God the Liberator
I praise you because You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD. . .
Psalm 70:5
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Colonial Americans did take many traditions from England. Wassail at Christmas is one. This is a version with red wine and dry sherry
1 cup sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
3 lemon slices
2 cups pineapple juice
2 cups orange juice
6 cups dry red wine
½ cup lemon juice
1 cup dry sherry
Boil the sugar, cinnamon sticks and lemon slices in ½ cup of water for 5
Minutes and strain. Discard the cinnamon sticks and lemon slices. Heat but do not boil the remaining ingredients. Combine with the syrup, and serve hot.
ATTIRE FOR TODAY
It will still be in the 50’s with maybe a few rain drops here and there, so I’m making sure to have my umbrella handy.
Tomorrow there are promises of more rain … be safe traveling everyone and take your time. I’ll be praying as always! May the good Lord get you to where you are going safely and take you back home the same way.
PRAYERS
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for saving us. Thank you for the Holy Spirit who guides and helps us to grow. Keep us close to you as we live our faith day by day
AMEN
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
This cat is not mine, but lives at DS#5’s house. DDIL#5 says he is brown striped…I think gray stripped. I can see a bit of brown there, but mostly gray I think…
Well my switch to the dining room ceiling light is now fixed and I owe a big THANK YOU to DDIL#6’s uncle. He did a great job and hopefully now it will keep on working!
THANKS AGAIN!
FAMILY ALBUM
Here is DS#1 and our Prince Charming in the Big Red coming up the hill to our campsite. It sure was good to see them come in that day. It was the opening day of the camping season.
26 DAYS UNTIL WINTER !
30 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
AND
142 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma
