It's MONDAY…BACK TO WORK TODAY
This will be a short week as I have Thursday and Friday off from work. My Thanksgiving celebration is over and done now for another year. So my attention will be turning toward Christmas.
All the work I do, for the most part, can really be done in 3 days anyway and other than manning the office and answering phone calls Thursdays and Fridays are slow days for me.
Preparation for Christmas is an exciting time for me, I’m just hoping that that the good Lord sends enough energy my way to get it all done. Thankfully, I can also look forward to a New Year and rejoice in the Old one. Time has flown by and the next month will be a busy one for most of us.
THOUGHTS
November is the month when we remember all the things we are thankful for and the One that makes them possible
A Faithful God
I praise you because your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. . . Great is your faithfulness . . .

NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is lots of leftovers in my fridge it seems so I’ll be cleaning out the fridge this week and trying to use up some of the things stored there.
One of the all time favorites in our house as I was growing up was my Mom’s Turnovers. I’ll have to see if anyone in my family is making them this year. If not I’ll have to make some
Here’s the recipe:
6 C flour
2 C shortening
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
½ C cold water
1 cake loose yeast
¼ C lukewarm water
3 eggs
Cut in shortening in the flour, salt and sugar. Add cold water gradually, then yeast which has been dissolved in warm water.
Add eggs
Mix and refrigerate overnight. Pinch a pice of dough about the size of a walnut and roll in sugar, into flat rounds.
Put 1 Tbsp. filling in each round. Then fold over the round and crimp the edges to seal.
Bake in 400 degree F. oven 10 to 12 minutes
Filling:
1 #2 can crushed pineapple
1 C sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch.
Bring to a boil and set aside to cool.
You may also used canned cherry or apple pie filling .
Enjoy!
ATTIRE FOR TODAY
It looks like we’ll once again be close to 50 degrees today. The long range forecast shows some showers through Thursday and getting a little colder each day. By Friday we may see a rain/snow mix.
PLACES
This Friday is our annual Family day…we usually go to a small town nearby to attend a craft show and visit the unique shops they have there. We avoid the shopping malls and all the traffic.
PRAYERS
Heavenly Father, thank you for the power, practicality, and truth of your word. Help us to be faithful in reading it and doing what is right as we seek to honor you in all things
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU!
AROUND HOME
I’ll be un-decorating the house and starting over this week. Time to put away all my fall decorations and start bringing out the ones for Christmas.
I’m going to try and use some color coded tubs to store things in and get a little organization into my life here.
COUNTING THE DAYS
28 DAYS UNTIL WINTER !
32 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
AND
144 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma
