TODAY'S THOUGHT
Since the New Year will not be any newer than you are,
make up your mind that you are going to be new
Dr. Norman Vincent Peale
TODAY’S ACTION
Decide to embrace life with intensity
TODAY’S QUOTE
We are not the same persons this year as last; nor are those we love. It is a happy chance if we, changing, continue to love a changed person
Somerset Maugham
IT’S MONDAY !!
It’s back to work for most of us today and back to school for many too.
I used to hate to see vacation times come to an end. I loved the days, especially when the babes were young, that they’d be home and we could do lots of things together. It was a relaxing time with no hectic schedules to keep. When they all reached school age there was never a dull moment.
I heard from DS#2 yesterday and he’ll be traveling to go to a school for a month. It seems like he always has some kind of continuing education going on. I’ll be praying for safe travels for him.
DS#1 called too and his adventure this past week was eating one of these:
The world famous Thurman burger.
It is literally the largest hamburger you will ever eat.
He says he is working up to a world famous Dagwood Sandwich at a different place next…if you eat it and the fries they’ll give you a free t-shirt. He is too funny; my stomach hurt just hearing about the size of the sandwich.
On my calendar this week, other than work, is our monthly dulcimer night on Tuesday and Bible Study on Thursday. We are supposed to get more snow mid week so we’ll see how that goes. If the weather is bad, I’ll just stay home. We had warmer weather on Sunday so the snow has all melted for now.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
God Bless You All!
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me,
and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TO REMEMBER…
I am in the hands of God,
and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY’S SMILE
Persons are the gifts of God to me! They are already wrapped, some beautifully and others less attractively. Some have been mishandled in the mail; others come "Special Delivery." Some are loosely wrapped; others very tightly closed. But the wrapping is NOT the gift, and this is an important realization. It is so easy to make a mistake in this regard. To judge the contents by the cover. Sometimes the gift is opened very easily; sometimes the help of others is needed. MAYBE, it is because they are afraid. It could be that they were once opened and then discarded... Maybe they have been hurt before and don't want to be hurt again. They may now feel more like "things" than human persons.I am a person; like everyone else I too am a gift. God filled me with a goodness that is only mine. And yet, sometimes I am afraid to look inside my wrapping. Maybe I am afraid I would be disappointed, and maybe I don't trust my own contents. OR, it may be that I have never really accepted the GIFT THAT I AM. Every meeting and sharing of persons is an exchange of gifts. My gift is Me; Your gift is You.
WE ARE GIFTS TO EACH OTHER.

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Unless you become like a little child, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:3
You came into the world as a beautiful child. Your beauty came from God, who created you in his own image and filled you with a portion of his own Spirit. When he brought you to life, he held you in his arms and caressed you tenderly, and his heart swelled with love for you. From the moment he created you he loved you. He created no one else like you, and he reserved a special place in his heart for you. His only wish for you was that you would always love him as he loves you.
You have never ceased to be a beautiful child of God. Even though you have grown older, God still sees in you the heart of a pure and innocent child. Even though you have changed, even though seemingly your beauty has faded, God's heart still swells with love for you. Even though you have often wandered far away from him, his wish for you is still that you come back to him and love him as he loves you. He created you to love you, and he still keeps a special place in his heart for you. He will love you for all eternity. If you wish to find lasting happiness, you must become a little child again, and open your heart to his love.
