ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JANUARY 18TH, 2009
TODAY'S THOUGHT
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back
and realize they were the big things.
Robert Brault
TODAY’S ACTION
Be the first, not the next
TODAY’S QUOTE
Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.
Maori Proverb
IT’S SUNDAY !!
As always I’ll be off to church a little later this morning but right now I have my quiet time. Coffee, my books, and my computer. A lot of what I read is online but I still have real books everywhere around my house.
Saturday was a grand lazy day spent inside. I even managed to make some macaroni salad and baked a velvet crumb cake. Those are 2 comfort foods for sure. Today I’m thinking about making some potato soup. There a few potatoes in the cupboard that need to be used up before I have to throw them out. I can take that in my lunch this week. Cold days make soup taste even better.
There isn’t much on the calendar for me after work in the week ahead except for Thursday evening Bible Study. On Tuesday we do celebrate 2 of the 4 January birthdays in my family. DS#6 and our Princess share the date. Both are a little too far away right now to celebrate with, but we’ll all be together on the 31st as we meet then to do the Stroll for Epilepsy in honor of our Sweetheart. I do hope the weather improves by then so we can all make the trip for that. If not, I’m sure we’ll make up for it when we do get together.
Ohio weather lets one know it is best to be flexible.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
O Lord, let your Word come to life in my heart
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me,
and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TO REMEMBER…

magnanimous \mag-NAN-uh-muhs\, adjective:
1. noble in mind or soul; free from mean or petty feelings or acts2. showing a generous spirit; generous in forgiving

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Samuel was sleeping in the temple of the Lord where the ark of God was.
1 Samuel 3:3
Will you sleep through 2009 or will you wake up and answer God's call?
2009 can be the greatest year of your life. "Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it so much as dawned on man what God has prepared for those who love Him" (1 Cor 2:9).
Some of those reading this will die and go to heaven this year. Others may be just moments from hell unless they repent and turn to Jesus. Some will make the most important decisions and face the greatest challenges of their lives in 2009.
If we knew what will happen internationally in 2009, we would immediately fall on our knees in prayer. That is why we read: 'Awake, O sleeper, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.' Keep careful watch over your conduct. Do not act like fools, but like thoughtful men. Make the most of the present opportunity, for these are evil days. Do not continue in ignorance, but try to discern the will of the Lord" (Eph 5:14-17).
Praise Jesus, Who’s Resurrection, has given us a "future full of hope" (Jer 29:11).
