ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JANUARY 22ND, 2009
TODAY'S THOUGHT
If I were asked to give what I consider the single most useful bit of advice for all humanity, it would he this: Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life and when it comes, hold your head high, look it squarely in the eye and say, "I will be bigger than you. You cannot defeat me."
Ann Landers
TODAY’S ACTION
It is better to sleep on what you plan to do than to be
kept awake by what you've done
TODAY’S QUOTE
Life's problems wouldn't be called "hurdles"
if there wasn't a way to get over them.

IT’S THURSDAY !!
Today is supposed to be the best day of the week weather wise. We may actually go above freezing today. I hope that all this snow just melts slowly. We don’t need any floods. Lots of long icicles are forming along our gutters too and we hope they are strong enough to hold the weight til they melt off.
DS#1 called to say they were home from the cold south. It was 29 degrees when they left there yesterday morning. They had a few warm days and then the last part of their vacation was chilly and all but DS#1 and our Prince Charming were sick so it could have been better, but they still had a nice time and saw a lot of things.
I also heard from DS#3 yesterday and he said he was picked to sit on a jury last week. It ended up being a hung jury and the judge said it would be retried. I’ve never done jury duty so seeing that side of things would be, as he said an opportunity to see how far our court system goes to make sure everyone has a fair trial.
Please continue to pray for them as they are still trying to deal with the loss of their little one. I pray that our dear Lord will comfort and heal their hearts.
I’ve found the best way to live is one day at a time. It seems we are always given enough strength to deal with each day and that is a good thing.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
In our daily lives then, Lord, help us to take some quiet time
for ourselves and in it know your closeness to us,
and the strength and healing that
you wish so much to give us
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
God Bless YOU!
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me,
and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TO REMEMBER…
I am in the hands of God,
and in God’s time all things will be made well.

The use of nuts and frosting on your brownies is optional

1 cup flour
¼ tsp. Baking powder
1/8 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Cream together the butter and brown sugar; beat in egg. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Spread batter in a greased and floured 7- X 11-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. These brown very quickly, so be sure to start checking at the 20 minute mark
