they look good from a distance but disappear when you get up close to them

TODAY’S QUOTE
As with most fine things, chocolate has its season. There is a simple memory aid that you can use to determine whether it is the correct time to order chocolate dishes: any month whose name contains the letter a, e, or u is the proper time for chocolate

IT’S SUNDAY !!
BrrrChill!
Another cold day in Northern Ohio today. The good cup of hot coffee is getting better and better. Today is R & R day. Time for some renewing and refreshing so I can get through another work week.
I got the down stairs cleaned up and the laundry done yesterday. Today I should clean upstairs, but I’m not sure if it’ll get done or not. This is my day of rest so we’ll see how it goes. With just me here things don’t really get dirty, just messy. I’m not the greatest person in the world for getting rid of things and so it just sort of piles up around here.
I’ve pretty much had it with January and got out my colorful valentine table cloth and put it on the dining room table along with some candles and a nice flower arrangement. I’ve got valentine plates and napkins too. It made things a little brighter looking around here.
Other than going out to church this morning it looks like a quiet day.
And except for Bible Study on Thursday evening and The Stroll on Saturday the week ahead looks pretty quiet too. It’s way too cold to go out much anyway.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Lord please help us to leave the past behind and look on today as new beginning.
It is the only way forward.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
25 WORDS

TO REMEMBER…

Compliment Day, that was yesterday. But if you forgot to compliment someone yesterday, it's okay to do it today
Opposite Day is a topsy, turvy day when everything you say, do, see, and hear are the opposite. If you say go left, you mean go right. If you say look up, it means look down. If you see your left foot...is it really your right? Opposite Day can be a whole lot of fun. It can also be very, very confusing. This special day is celebrated primarily among school children

TODAY’S SMILEThere is a story of a grocery store owner who tried to weigh a prayer.
A tired-looking woman came into the store and asked for enough food to make a dinner for her children. The grocer asked her how much she could spend.
The frail woman answered, "I have nothing to offer but a little prayer."
The storekeeper was not very sentimental nor religious, so he said, half-mockingly, "Write it on paper, and I'll weigh it." So she did. The grocer placed the prayer on the weight side of his old-fashioned scales.
Then he began piling food on the other side; but to his amazement, the scale would not go down. He finally became flustered and gave the woman a large bag of food.The grocer never saw the woman again, but he treasures the slip of paper upon which the woman's prayer had been written;
Please, Lord, give us this day our daily bread

A sense of humor doesn't mean the ability to tell jokes or make wisecracks. It's a sense of proportion and the courage to smile. It's the ability to take yourself and your problems with a grain of salt, the ability to smile at yourself and the world as well

A flower called a Snowdrop appears in February
And is a symbol of hope
According to the legend the flower called a Snowdrop became a symbol of hope when Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden. When Eve was about to give up hope that the cold of winter would never end and angel appeared. She transformed some snowflakes into snowdrop flowers proving that the winters do eventually give way to the Spring
TODAY’S WORD
vivify VIV-uh-fy, transitive verb:
The only way we will hear the voice of God is if we stop and listen for it. Getting down on one's knees in prayer to the Lord is not just for kids. Most adults could communicate better with God if they started from an attitude of prayer
Stop to smell the roses. Pay attention to the people in your life, and the events that occur. And perhaps, if you really think, you too will hear the message of the Lord!
