ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JANUARY 3rd, 2009
TODAY'S THOUGHT
Let us move into the New Year with a great sense of the thrill of living.
Dr. Norman Vincent Peale
TODAY’S ACTION
Be willing to take lovingly each small gift of life
TODAY’S QUOTE
How can the future be molded with hands full of baggage labeled What Was and What Could've Been? Where can you go with all that stuff, and how much fun will you have with it when you get there? Leave those bags behind, and hope they stay lost before you get to your next destination. All right, take a few souvenirs if you must, but just nice stuff.
No junk.
Michael Rawls
IT’S SATURDAY !!
My thought for today is the same one I had for yesterday. It seems like one worth repeating to me. We can not bring the anything from the past back again, but we do have today and that is what really matters. The New Year gives us all a chance to create new beginnings.
Today we have another chance to the best we can and make the most of.
Don’t ever let yesterday’s sorrows rob you of the happiness you can have today.
For years now I’ve found that looking On the Bright Side is a far more better way of living than the alternative. I do work hard at finding the sunshine in each day, but it is truly there if we look for it.
Our beliefs and attitudes are what help us to reach our goals, protect us from stress and boost our self esteem.
We stand at the entrance of a new year and of new possibilities! I look toward 2009 with a grateful heart. Thankful for another day, possibly another year, to live a life of gratitude, possibly a life of moderation, and share His blessings with the people He puts in my path
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Know that this same loving Lord stays constant in loving you
and leading you, day by day
If God values us enough to send Jesus in our midst, surely we can take another look at this gift and express our loudest gratitude and praise.
God, you remain worthy of my praise. Thank you for the gift of salvation. Help me explore what it means to become righteous and holy. Amen
Dispel in glorious splendor the darkness everywhere.
True man yet very God,
From sin and death now save us,
And share our every load

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me,
and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TO REMEMBER…
I am in the hands of God,
and in God’s time all things will be made well.
TODAY’S TRIVIA
Today is the FESTIVAL OF SLEEP DAY
No, you are not dreaming. But, perhaps you should be.
Festival of Sleep Day is today. It is an opportunity to sleep in, snooze, doze, nap, and catch 40 winks.
We feel this is the perfect date for Festival of Sleep Day. The holidays are over...Wow, weren't they exhausting! It's cold and snowy.... time to hibernate. And, why not re-charge the batteries as a new year of school and work begins?
Festival of Sleep Day is a favorite holiday to catch up on a little sleep. Whether its all day, a full 8 hours, or just a power nap, enjoy the day sleeping. Cozy up in bed on the couch, or any other comfortable place. Oh.... don't forget your favorite stuffed animal. It's okay to sleep alone, sleep alone or with someone else.
Caution: Sleeping at work is not recommended, today, or any day. The only exception is for mattress testers.
Warning #2: The Surgeon General has determined that sleeping is good for your health.

TODAY’S SMILE
Abraham Lincoln, truly one of our greatest presidents, had a rather unique approach in trying a case when he was a practicing attorney. He went to great lengths to learn everything he could about what the attorney for the "other side" would say... Then, in his arguments, Lincoln would do a superb job of presenting the case from his opponent's side of the table...
On occasion, the attorney for the other side would make the observation that Lincoln had presented the opposition's case better than he could have. Perhaps you wonder why he took such an approach. First, he wanted to be fair. Second, he wanted to win the case if he believed his client was right. Needless to say, Lincoln then presented his own side with more fervor, facts, and reasons why his side was the right side. By using this procedure, Lincoln completely robbed the opposition of anything to say and built his own case in a stronger manner...
He also wove in more humor and homespun stories when he presented his case. Most people, including jurors, like and trust those who give them cause to smile and who bring homespun logic to the table. What Lincoln did was simple. He practiced great human relations and used his abundant common sense. He wanted right to prevail and when he presented his case, as a general rule, the right side did win.
Think about it. Take Lincoln's approach and I'll see you at the top! By Zig Ziglar
To love people, to be indispensable somewhere, that is the purpose of life. That is the secret of happiness.

WORDS TO LIVE BY
When you hear a kind word spoken about a friend, tell her so.
Don't work for recognition, but do work worthy of recognition.
Start the standing ovation at the end of school plays.
When someone lets you down, don't give up on him.
What you do today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow.
Nothing important was ever achieved without someone's taking a chance.
When a friend is in need, help him without his having to ask.
When someone gives you something, never say, "You shouldn't have."
Remember that cruel words deeply hurt.
Remember that loving words quickly heal.
Seek respect rather than popularity.
Seek quality rather than luxury.
Never be too busy to meet someone new.
Don't let the odds keep you from pursuing what you know you were meant to do.
To help your children turn out well, spend twice as much time and half the money.
Remember that life's most treasured moments often come unannounced.
Be willing to accept a temporary inconvenience for a permanent improvement.
Protect your enthusiasm from the negativity of others.
Remember, it's not your job to get people to like you; it's your job to like people.
Rebuild a broken relationship.

Remain in Him as that anointing taught you.
1 John 2:27
St. John says that if the anointing you received from Jesus remains in you, then "you have no need for anyone to teach you" (1 Jn 2:27)
Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ". If we're ignorant of Him, we cannot "remain in Him" (1 Jn 2:28). Read God's word daily, and remain in Jesus
Jesus, keep me faithful to Your teaching and never let me be parted from You.
His "promise is no less than this: eternal life." —1 Jn 2:25
