ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is also International Puzzel Day, which honors puzzles of all sizes shapes and forms. You can celebrate the day by solving one or more puzzles. A puzzle is a problem or enigma that tests the ingenuity of the solver. In a basic puzzle one is intended to put tother pieces in a logical way in order to come up with a desired solution.
The first jigsaw puzzle was created around 1760 when John Spilsbury , a british engraver and mapmaker, mounted a map on a sheet of wood then he sawed around each individual country. Spilsbury used the product to aide in teaching geography. After catching on with the general public this remained the primary use of jigsaw puzzles until about 1820. By the early 20th century magazines and newspapers found that they could increase their subscriptions by publishing puzzle contests. Puzzles may also include letters, numbers, shapes and riddles.
Solutions to puzzles may require recognizing patterns, and creating a particular order. People with a high inductive reasoning aptitude may be better at solving these puzzles than others.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Every problem in a new puzzle to solve.

This grandson’s birthday is another of my long distance celebrations and as always a card was sent in the mail with my birthday wishes and love. He is the 2nd of my grandchildren to celebrate their 20th birthday thus tear,. There were three that were born in the year 2000. So we still have one more to go but that won’t be until April.
Every January I get a jigsaw puzzle to work during the long winter evenings. It’s more fun if you have someone helping, but mostly I’m on my own. This year was no different and we got the puzzle out one weekend when one of grand children came to visit. And there it sits, with very little done. I’ve not worked on it since. But it’s there in case I get bored. The thing is my life is never boring and there are always more things to do than time I have to do them, .
They say that puzzles are good for us to work though as they increase our brain power, which delays Dementia and Alzheimers’s.. They improve our moods and lower stress levels too, So I really should get busy and work that puzzle soon. They are good for our minds body and spirit. The same goes for working crossword puzzles and Word searches. There truly are a lot of different kinds of puzzles The pictures today are from last years family Easter celebration which is usually when I got to see this grandson - at family celebrations..
I hope you all have WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

This grandson is now a wonderful young man...they don't stay little very long at all.
Happy birthday to your Star! Hope he has a great day today! Jigsaw puzzles are fun to do! I was at the library the other day and saw that they had a jigsaw puzzle set up on a table for anyone who wanted to work it. I checked back a few days later and it was almost done! You are right, Ma, any type of puzzle/word game is good for keeping one's mind sharp!

Happy Birthday to Star! My mother used to enjoy jigsaw puzzles; and yes, I remember one from childhood comprised of the U.S. -- before Alaska and Hawaii. 'Embarrassed to admit, I still have difficulty correctly identifying those in the northeast!
I used to enjoy crossword puzzles so much; not sure why or when I fell off the wagon. Good thing, there are apps to be had free-for-nothin on my phone.
Happy ☺ Birthday 🎂
I have missed getting to visit you lately but I am BACK!
Yes, I have a puzzle at home and here at the ranch! Slow going.....
I am with you! There is always more to do than we have time for!
