ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR THURSDAY, JANUARY 9TH,2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Static Electricity Day which ia a shocking holiday. It’s a day to honor this unexpected, mostly unpleasant and sometimes hair raising phenomenon. It’s called static because the charge stays on the surface until it comes into contact with another surface with a negative charge.
It can be created by rubbing and object against another. Some materials like wool and glass are much more likely to have static electricity. Dry human hair and skin also accumulate electric charges. This is why people tend to experience shocks when they touch door knobs or anything made of metal in the winter time.
Leather sole shoes, moisturizer and clothing made of natural fibers except wool, help to prevent static buildup.
Lightening is an natural example of when sparks are discharged du to the build up of static electricity. A spark of Static electricity has thousands of volts but with low current and a shorter period.
Happy National Static Electricity Day!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Don’t confuse static electricity with ecstatic eccentricity . One will leave you’re hair up, the other will live up in the air.

Due to the humidity in the air here, I haven’t felt any shocks while I’ve been here, but I would at home. When the furnace comes on in the wintertime and dries out the air at home. It’s like everything you touch some days will give you a shock. It helps to use a humidifier.
It’s supposed to be 80 degrees today and I’m going to spend another day out soaking up the sun by the pool here. Only one more day to take advantage of the warm rays. It doesn’t seem possible that the time could go by so fast, but it did and soon I’ll be flying home. I will not be looking forward to the colder temps and lack of sunshine there. The Florida sunshine is good for body and soul. I’d never tire of these sunny days!
Today’s pictures are a few more from the everglades air boat ride we took. Not shocking, but beautiful, except for the alligators.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Life is short. You might as well live it with really great hair.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7754, for more humid air, no shocks to be had
7755. for sunny blue skies
7756. for the warmth that soothes my old bones
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Today is is not so humid and there is a nice breeze blowing the humidity out.It is supposed to get warmer though.
Those gators give me the chills!
Tom still struggles to acclimate himself to the humidity. Me? I just make myself remember the 70's when I paid good gym $ to spend time in a sauna … and here, God's giving it to us free-for-nothing. (*smile*)
We're still wearing our sweatshirts, but tomorrow and Saturday are supposed to warm up considerably -- tornado weather some call it.
Those are great pictures! I wouldn't mind seeing an alligator unless it was coming mighty close to my boat :)
It is shocking indeed to get shocked when touching something here because of static electricity. It happens a lot here if we don't run the humidifier and our humidity is low, which it usually is.
