ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22ND,2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Blonde Brownie Day which are concisdered to be an alternative to the very popular dessert, brownies, made with a mixture of flour, sugar, baking powder, butter, eggs and cocoa. However blonde have their own unique flavor while aren’t as well known, they are just as delicious.
If you’re looking for a better way to make brownies, then try out this recipe. First grease a cake pan and set aside. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees . Crack two eggs into a mixing bowl and beat till blended, then stir in the brown sugar and vanilla. After melting the butter a little bit you should next whisk the butter into the egg mixture. In another bowl, mix together the flour baking powder and salt, after making some room in the bowl then pour the egg mixture into the well. Once it all blended nicely together, transfer to the cake pan and bake around 30 minutes. Once baked, cool and serve. The recipe I have also called for the addition of Chocolate chips to be added to the dough.
These brownies are like bar cookies at their best.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Stressed is desserts spelled backwards .

My mom used to make blond brownies so they are an old favorite for me. I used to make them on a regular basis but haven’t had them in a long time. They remind me of a moist chocolate chip cookie only better. and definitely make a great dessert.
We are finally warming up above freezing today. Our high will be 36 degrees. It’s a heat wave for us and it will be partly sunny for an extra added bonus. We did have some sunshine yesterday afternoon too, but it was bitter cold here. My short trip to the grocery store yesterday tuned out to be quite an adventure. Thankfuly all turned out ok but it was quite scary for awhile. My breaks stopped working when I stopped at the intersection and I sailed right through, I should have thought to used the emergency brake, but I didn’t. I just held my breath and was relieved to see that no cars were coming. They were stopped waiting for the light to turn green. So what I did was to go through the yellow light which I wouldn’t normally do. I made it to the grocery store and parked then went in and got my groceries, then called for road service. The nice people at the service desk let me us their phone. I had forgot mine and left it at home. I wasn’t about to try and drive the car home. DSIL had said he would fix my breaks so they towed it to their home. What a surprise it was for them to see my car come in the drive on the back of a tow truck. They were just getting ready for dinner so invited me to stay. It was a delicious meal of meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn. Comfort food was just what I needed. After that DD brought me and my grocerys home, so it was after 6 o’clock when I finally got to sit down and relax bit. Thank the good Lord all turned out alright and I didn’t have an accident. Having no breaks is very scary. I guess my guardian angel was watching out for me as I didn’t need to make any sudden stops, but coasted right into the parking lot.
Now I’ll be without a car for a few days, but DSIL said he’d get it fixed for me. So even though It’s nicer out today, I’ll still be staying in here. Not my choice, but maybe it will be a good day to get my walker outside for some fresh air. We’l see…I could just stay inside and make some blonde brownies for dessert.
I have no pictures of brownies today but I do have plenty of snowy days and that is what the pictures are of today.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednsday!

Every day is an adventure !
Oh my goodness! What a frightening experience; I can't imagine how I would react, except to hang on for dear life. Things one always assumes happens to the 'other guy' and not ourselves. Love how your DD and DSIL were there to hug and provide you with comfort food.
I've not had a blonde brownie in years; actually, I prefer them to the traditional variety.
My heart stopped when I was reading this, Ma. I was worried that it wouldn't end up like it did, but glad you were safe! So thankful your DSIL will be able to work on your brakes! Great benefit of it all was having a delicious dinner with your daughter and her family!

Blonde Brownies! Haven't had those in ages!
Oh my I am so glad you did not have an accident. My car computer has been telling me my brakes need to be checked so I guess I will do this. I can't imagine how scared you were. Stay safe and warm.
