ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, JANUARY 18TH,2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Winnie the Pooh Day which honors the fictional bear created by AA. Milne, Winnie the Pooh. This day also celebrates A.A. Milne, as it’s his birthday. In the Milne books, Pooh is a naive and slow witted, but is also thoughtful, friendly and steadfast. Although he and his friends agree that he has no brain, Pooh is accassionally acknowledged to have a clever idea, usually driven by common sense.
Have a happy Winne the Pooh Day
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest, waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.
A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh
.
I’ve always liked the stories of Winnie the Pooh and read them to my children and now the grandchildren too. He may be a bear of little brain, but he shares a lot of wisdom in his words. Not only do the books offer wonderful tales for children but wise words about life too.
A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.
Winnie the Pooh
We used to have several Pooh bears here at my house but they were all given away when I moved, but there have been times I’ve wished I’d kept one or two. They might just remind me of what is important in life.
It’s Saturday and my day to cook for the weekend so I thought that since Pooh Bear loved homey I’d find a recipe with honey as one of the ingredients and this is what I found to tix:
15 Minute Honey Pepper Beef Stir Fry
makes 4 servings
Sauce:
3 Tbsp soy sauce
3 Tbsp. honey
1 1/2 tbsp. oyster sauce
2 Tsp. chinese cooking wine
For the stir fry:
2 cloves garlic
1 onion
1 lb flank steak , sliced thinly across the grain.
Combine the sauce ingredients in a small bowl, whisk and set aside
Add oil to a large heavy skillet and heat on high until oil is hot and smoking slightly.
Add onion and garlic and saute about 1 minute. Then add flank steak and stir fry about 1 minute. Slide beef, onion and garlic onto a plate and set aside.
Reduce the heat and add the sauce into the skillet. Cook for 1 minute until it becomes thicker and syrupy.
Add the beef, onion and garlic back to the skillet and make sure to get all the juices on the plate too. Heat until all is coated in the sauce. You can sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped chives if desired. Don’t overcook the beef, you want tender pieces of steak , not chewey ones.
I’ll serve this over rice and save some for tomorrow too, It’s enough to serve 4 and I’m the only one here.
I don’t happen to have any bear pictures to share today, but I do have honey and that is what the pictures are of today;
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

ADVICE FOR TODAY

Hone is good and good for you too !
HONEY, I hope you have a great day!!
And I named my son CHRISTOPHER. Had I had a daughter, I think I would have named her ROBIN.
You might not think anyone could be so CORNY but you don't know me! HA!!
Never having read "Winnie the Pooh", I was slow to catch on to his wisdom. But how I love Pooh's wisdom. And wow. The memes I see out there featuring he and Eeyore warm my heart so much. If memory serves, you've a birthday in the not-so-distant future; perhaps there's another Pooh bear in your future? Have a great day!
Who can resist Winnie? He is so cute! All of the characters from A.A. Milne's stories are great! That recipe sounds yummy and so easy to make! I'm going to copy it out and make it soon!
betty
