ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR MONDAY, JANUARY 27TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day, In the late 1950’s an American engineer named Al Fielding and a Swiss inventor named Marc Chavannes created Bubble Wrap. They were actually trying to come up with a textured plastic wall paper but soon realized that their product had huge potential as a packaging material.
Fielding and Chavannes founded the Sealed Air Corporation and introduced Bubble Wrap to the public in January of 1960. Today Sealed Air is a global Fortune 500 company and produces enough Bubble Wrap to stretch from the Earth to the Moon each year.
Sealed Air has sponsored an annual Bubble Wrap competition for young inventors to create the most innovative product using Bubble Wrap as the primary material. Past winners include a floating garden, a cell phone cover, a swing for children with movement disorders, and a transformable kite kit.
To celebrate today enjoy popping an entire roll of Bubble Wrap bubbles. It’s a good way to relieve stress.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
We are all mature until somebody brings some bubble wrap.

I do use quite a bit of bubble wrap for packaging gifts I have to send out of town. It’s lightweight and doesn’t add to the cost of mailing anything. Sadly not all of my family live close to home so I must mail their gifts. Just as soon as I finish putting Christmas away here, I still have gifts to send to DS#3 and family who were not able to join us for our family Christmas. They seem a bit redundant at this point as the ornaments that I painted for everyone were meant to be souvenirs of our Christmas together. They are shown in the picture above. I had thought we’d all be together and didn’t realized that they wouldn’t be coming. I also painted the elf plaque show below. One for each family.
DSIL wasn’t able to fix my car so it is now at the garage waiting for repairs. He did say it was a broken brake line. I’m hoping they are able to get it done soon. It’s hard not having a car to drive when you’re used to having your own. Meanwhile it’s another day in the house for me today, but that’s not a worry, there is always plenty to do. It’s time I got busy and decide on what I want to paint for Easter this year.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!

Pop! Pop! Pop! that bubble wrap !
Ya, bubble wrap can be great fun. I've a new roll waiting in the back of my closet but in times past, I've had to resort to using old towels.
Thank you for sharing your art projects! … That Elf Surveillance is so darn cute. What a shame your car is still out of commission. Ya, staying safe sometimes come at an unwelcomed time and cost.
That was cute what you painted, Ma, for Christmas! The elf one is so adorable! I bet you'll have fun thinking of what you want for Easter to paint! Sorry about the car; never fun when they aren't working the way they should. Hope it quickly is fixed and doesn't cost you an arm or a leg!
betty
Popping the bubbles is also remedial for children with ADD.
