ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3RD,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Roof over Your Head Day which is a day to appreciate the things we have including the roof over our heads. A roof is the covering on the uppermost part of a building or shelter.to provide protection from the weather, notably rain, but also heat wind, and sunlight.
The primary job of most roofs is to keep out water. The large area of the roof repels a lot of water, which must be directed in some suitable way, so that it doesn’t cause damage or inconvenience. Because the purpose of a roof is to protect people and their possessions from climatic elements, the insulating properties of a roof are a consideration in its structure and the choice of roofing material.
To celebrate today, pick a name or two off a Christmas Giving Tree and make someone’s holiday a little bit better. Volunteer at or make a contribution to a Homeless shelter. Your gift may help someone else to be able to have a roof over their heads tonight.
Today is also Giving Tuesday.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
Snow is falling….Friends are calling
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
May you always have walls for the winds, a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire, laughter to cheer you, those you love near you and all your heart might desire.
Irish Blessing
I am very thankful for the roof over my head and for the fact that I can pay the rent each month. Renting has been a blessing for me as I no longer have to take care of repairs around the house. My rent includes maintaineance of my home .
At my age, it’s something I can’t do on my own and I’m thankful for maintenance men. They come quickly when they are needed and keep everything working great here.
The roof on the house is shingle but the roofs on the attached car port and sunporch are metal ones and I love listening to the rain hitting the metal roof. I like having a car port too, that shelters the car and I can go from the car to the house without getting wet.
I’m really thankful for the sun porch which is where I spend a lot of time in the summer. It has windows and screens and is a comfortable place to sit and enjoy nature. I can only use it during the warm months though as it is not heated. It’s been cold and wet here but it’s better than the heavy snow some have been experiencing. We have a new coating on the ground this morning.
This evening I’m supposed to be going to a Christmas concert that two of my grands will be in. I always love to see the little ones perform and as it certain puts you in a Christmassy mood. Hopefully I’ll have some pictures to share tomorrow.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love brought together under one roof.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I probably have internet problems today...sorry
Yes indeed, a roof over your head is a great blessing. So glad you can go hear year grandkids sing, what fun. It does get harder and harder to do the maintenance on the property so maybe renting is a good idea.
How fun with the children's performance! I always think they are so cute to watch! The performers are always so excited about being on stage and searching out their parents, etc. I am thankful for the roof I have over my head too!!
betty
Having a roof over your head, real or metaphoric, is such a blessing.
Were it not for Tom, I'd enjoy renting a place such as yours. A good maintenance team is a godsend! Like you, I love spending time in the sunroom these days. Only, with a southern exposure, ours is sure not the place to be in the Summer.
