ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR TUESDAY, DECEMBER 24TH,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is Christmas Eve which is the day before Christmas Day , a widely celebrated holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus of Nazareth. On this day, much of the world anxiously awaits the festivities of Christmas Day. Many families even celebrate this day as much as Christmas itself.
The Night before Christmas has become a holiday of its own. Whether you need to bake a batch of cookies, or do a reading of the classic book, Twas the Night Before Christmas be sure to celebrate this day with loved ones! Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night!
It is also National Eggnog Day and it’s appropriate that this occasion is celebrated on Christmas Eve. It is one of most popular beverages served doing the holidays..
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Late on a sleepy star spangled night, those angels peeled back the sky just like you would tear open a sparkling Christmas present . Then with light and joy pouring out of heaven , like water through a broken dam, they began to shout and sing the message that baby Jesus had been born. The world had a savior. The angels called it Good News and it was.

Christmas Eve at my house is all about going to church with the few in my family that live close by and that is what the pictures are of today, last year's Christmas Eve.
The kids always play the part of angels and shepherds and proudly take part in the service. When my children were all at home, we’d often go to church at the midnight service so they wouldn’t have to interrupt Christmas morning gift opening by going to Church services for Christmas day. Now they have an early evening service for the little ones and their families.
I love to see the eager anticipation in their eyes! They are so excited they could practically burst with it. Children make Christmas extra special.
Tomorrow will be a quiet day for me, clearing up the mess I made packing and wrapping and making sure I don’t forget anything. I leave on Thursday for our family Christmas vacation and our celebration will be on 31st, for both Christmas and the new year.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday! Happy Christmas Eve.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
While shepherds watched their flocks by night
All seated on the ground
The angel of the Lord came down
And glory shone around

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
When the song of the angel is stilled
When the star in the sky is gone
When the kings and princesses are home
When the shepherds are back with their flock
The work of Christms begins
To find the lost
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry
To release the prisoner
to rebuild the nations
To bring peace among brothers and sisters
To make music in the heart.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
