ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR THURSDAY, DECEMBER 19TH,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is look for an Evergreen Day which is the day to find this year's Christms conifer. An evergreen is a plant that has green leaves all four seasons of the year.
A Christmas tree is a decorated evergreen conifer such as spruce, pine, or fir. The tree was trationally decorated with edibles such s apples, nuts or other foods. In the 18th century, it began to be illuminated by candles, which with electrification could be replaced by Christmas lights. Today there is a wide variety of traditional ornaments, such as garland, tinsel, and candy canes.
Traditionally Christmas trees were not brought in and decorated until Christmas eve, but some families now will put up a Christmas tree soon after Thanksgiving. and Christmas decorations can show up in retail stores often the day after Halloween.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Nothing ever seems too bad, too hard or too sad when you’ve got a Christmas tree in the living room. All those presents under it, all that anticipation.. Just a way of saying there’s always light and hope in the world.
Nora Roberts.
The pictures above are of DS#1 and family going after their evergreen tree one year. The ones below are of DS#5 and family. It’s a fun thing to take a family out to hunt for an evergreen tree. There are many Christmas tree farms where you can go and cut down your own. There is nothing better than the smell of a fresh cut tree. The pine scent is heavenly.
I only have artificial trees at my house anymore and use scented candles to get the smell, but it’s not the same. I thought about going out to buy some fresh evergreen roping to hang up for decoration, to get the smell but then remembered the mess that dried pine needles are to clean up. So I decided not too. My candles will have to suffice.
I hope you have a GREAT day. Happy Thurwsday!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The Christmas tree is a symbol of love, not money. There’s a kind of glory to them when they’re all lit up that exceeds anything all the money in the world could buy.
Andy Rooney
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

What would life be without a Christmas tree?
Growing up in the parsonage, my father remembers never seeing their tree until Christmas Eve. After his father's services concluded, only then would he threw open the study's double doors for the children.
I, too, love the sight and aroma of a real tree. It's been a very long time.
I love a real tree, but since downsizing, I now have a prelit artificial. It's so much easier maintenance, but oh how I miss that smell. Merry Christmas MA and blessings for the new year.
Its always fun to walk by the pine cones they have in the stores this time of year to get that wonderful pine smell! Haven't had a real tree in over 25 years, but I too remember not fondly the dried branches at the end of the season. Its nice we have the choices we have for trees, fits exactly what people want! Your son#5 was amazing to carry 3 kids like that!
