ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR MONDAY, DECEMBER 9TH,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Christmas Card Day which honors Sr Henry Cole of England who created the first commercial Christmas Card in 1843. A Christmas card is a greeting card sent as part of the traditional celebration of Christmas in order to convey between people a range of sentiments related to the Christmas and holiday season.
The traditional greeting reads, wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. There are innumerable variations. The content or design might relate directly to the Christmas narrative but many show seasonal figures associated with Christmas.
Happy Christmas Card Day!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
God bless us every one.
Charles Dickens
A lot of people have stopped sending Christmas cards due to the increase in cost of postage, but I still send them and have mine addressed and ready to put a stamp on. For me the cost of a stomp is worth it to keep in touch with friends and family and send them a Christmas greeting. Some of the pople I send them to I rarely see anymore and I like being able to wish them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
This is one tradition I’ll keep up as long as I can. Today I should get out and get some stamps and get those cards in the mail. I’ve already received a few cards and feel I am behind. It’s time to show I care and spread some Christmas cheer!
I don’t have everyone's address, so if you don’t happen to get a card from me, please Know I’m wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!!

A Christmas card shows you care and spreads goodwill and cheer!
I hope I have your address! My email is on the side bar of my blog. I would love it if you would send me your address.....just in case I don’t have it! I’m working on my cards, too!
I love Christmas cards too! A lot like to send the photo type cards now. That's great for families.I read that one of my heroes, Annie Oakley sent the first photo Christmas card to her family from Scotland, she was dressed in plaid or tartan as they say in Britain! Merry Christmas, happy Christmas card sending and receiving.
It is always good to keep in touch through cards. I haven't gotten any yet this year but haven't sent any either. My mom always sent cards and enjoyed getting them too.

After a couple years' lapse, I'm going to send Christmas cards again this week … at least to those with whom I'm not already in contact on social media. Sure miss the days when our mailbox was full … in particular those with photos. Of course, this was way before the internet.
