ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13TH,2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Cocoa Day which is a day to enjoy your favorite type of cocoa and for for a holiday twist on this winter tradition, try adding a candy cane.
Nothing is better on a cold winter day than a delicious cup of hot cocoa . Cocoa is made from dried, fully fermented seeds of the cacao tree. These seeds are ground to make cocoa powder which is the main ingredient in the hot cocoa we all know and love.
Cocoa trees are grown worldwide, but it is thought that the first ones grew in south America. .Lucky for us cacao trees are plentiful - it takes 300-600 cocoa beans to make two pounds of chocolate.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Today everything must be easy and it mustn’t take time…ready meals. Powdered hot chocolate and instant coffee…Living takes time. We need to give each other time.
Karin Fossum
Most of the time I make my cocoa using a powdered mix, but it is very easy to make your own.
Simple Hot Cocoa for One
2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 to 2 tbsp. sugar, to taste
Since of salt
1 cup milk
1/4 tsp vanilla
Whisk together the cocoa, sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons milk in a small pan over medium low heat until cocoa and sugar are dissolved. Whisk in the rest of the milk and heat over medium heat, whisking occasionally until it is hot. Stir in vanilla and serve.
I like mine toped with mini marshmallows. And the minty flavor of candy cane is a perfect combination.
Despite the fact that this is Friday the 13th, this has been a good week for me and I got a lot done. I’m at the point now where I can wrap up presents and then I’ll be ready for Christmas.
And then I can now start on my packing for our family Christmas. Ho Ho Ho, Santa will soon be on his way!.
I hope you have a FANTASTIC FRIDAY!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Love is like swallowing hot chocolate before it has cooled off . It takes you by surprise at first, but keeps you warm for a long time.
Henri Frederic Amiel
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7685. for hot chocolate, very warming
7686. for a day to wrap up the gifts
7687 for the cold but clear weather.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Watch the sunrise at least once a year, put a lot of marshmallows in your hot chocolate, lie on your back and look at the stars, never buy a coffee table you can’t put your feet n, never pass up a chance to jump on a trampoline, don’t over look life’s small joys while searching for the big ones.
H. Jackson Brown Jr.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Savor the flavor...
Yours are the cutest mugs! I've been on the look-out at estate sales for ones that make me smile - but nothing so far.
Since there's a good chance I'll over-eat at son's birthday lunch, I may just pop a Hot Cocoa k-cup into my machine this evening and call that supper! :)
Nothing better than a cup of hot cocoa with some marshmallows to warm one up on a cold winter day! I bet you are so excited about your trip, Ma!
