ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Electronic Greeting Card Day! Not only are electronic greeting cards a fun and inexpensive way to make someone’s day a little brighter, but they are good for the Earth as well. When you choose digital greeting cards over paper, you help the Earth by cutting back on excess paper waste. It’s a great day to celebrate, or just say hello, with an electronic greeting card!
Happy On Line Greetings Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
Irving Berlin
I like to think of my daily post as a kind of online greeting card to say hello to you all each day with a bit of trivia to give you a reason to celebrate each day. I’ve been doing this now for several years and enjoy doing it because I like keeping in touch with family and friends.
It’s hard to believe that it’s midweek already and that tomorrow is the last day of November. I’ve finally finished putting away Fall and have got out my Christmas decorations. It took a little extra work on my part but it is now done. DS#5 came by and hung a lighted wreath on the front of my house so it is looking pretty festive. Now work in Santa’s workshop can continue. I had to put that off for a few days till I got this completed.
Our temps have dropped back into the 40’s but it’s still sunny and that is a blessing. 60 degree temps are not usual for this time of year so we can only be thankful for the one day we got yesterday.
This pictures today are of DS#5 and his family when they went to get their Christmas tree this post Sunday.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Lemon Cream Pie Day! According to culinary historians, people have been enjoying lemon flavored custards and desserts since the Middle Ages. Chefs during this time period also used lemons to perfume the water they used for cooking. This was supposed to give their dishes a refreshing flavor.
The classic lemon cream pie we know and love today emerged in the 1920s.
Lemon Cream Pie
1 14oz can sweetened condensed milk
frozen whipped topping, thawed
grated lemon peal
3 large egg yolks
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 prepared graham cracker crust
Heat oven to 325 degrees. Beat egg yolks in a medium bowl with mixer. Add sweetened condensed milk and lemon juice till well mixed. Pour into crust.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until set. Remove from oven. Cool 1 hour. Chill at least 3 hours
Spread whipped toping over pie before serving.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.
Brian Tracy
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5482. for cards, electronic or hand made, all are appreciated
5483. for lemons, great in a pie
5484. for sunshine in November
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I love anything lemon. I've discovered recently how absolutely delicious lots of lemon pepper is in potato salad. Of course a lemony dessert is preferred. *lol* Love the pictures of the family getting their tree. Fun times! Have a wonderful day, Andrea xxx
How fun to go out and get the Christmas tree! Looked like a great time! I saw a lighted wreath on someone's door last night; I thought it looked really festive. Might have to look for one myself.
