ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Color the World Orange Day. The first Monday in November is dedicated to bringing awareness to Complex Regional Pain Syndrom and Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy with Color the World Orange Day.
It affects men, women and children alike. Anyone is fair game for this disease, although women are 75% more likely to contract the disease than men.
Researchers are still trying to figure out why some people contract CRPS while others don’t. Anyone can get it, it usually happens after some sort of trauma, like an accident or fall. The typical injury of a broken bone or pulled muscle would heal normally in most, but for some, this is when CRPS rears its ugly head. Most people don’t realize they have a problem until the persistent pain doesn’t end.
Everyone is encouraged to wear orange to help spread awareness.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
M Kathleen Casey
Chronic pain is something that no one wants but many have. To get relief is a blessing for sure. For years I suffered unending back pain and do know what a relief it was when it finally came to an end. The result was that I learned how to be very good to my back. I let my knees do the lifting and not by back and this worked well until my knees started to wear out too. I do things slowly now and that means it takes longer to do everything too. Good thing I’m retired!
I’m getting into the the push part of my holiday preparations this week as last week little was done at all due to the cold I had. This week I have to make up for lost time.
The leaves are still falling and I still have yard work to do too. I’m hoping I’ll get at least one good day this week to get out and mulch more leaves. It’s so much simpler to do this than to rake them up and haul them to the curb and much easier on the back. The leaves on the two huge oak trees are finally beginning to turn so hopefully soon they’ll come down and I can be done with this season occupation.
The holiday tip of the day is
To send season's greetings, and not lose track of family, friends or your sanity, it's time to begin a Christmas card list. Whether you'll send Christmas cards, holiday letters, or transmit season's greetings by email, starting early saves last minute holiday stress.
Pumpkins are still very much in style with Thanksgiving coming our way and they were the only orange pictures I had to share for today so even though I may have shown them before, here they are again.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s Nachos Day
Sometimes they’re hot and spicy. Sometimes they’re cheesy. Sometimes they make a mess everywhere. But one thing is certain: they’re delicious, and a favorite in many parts of the world.
EASY PARTY NACHO CHEESE
1 box of easy melt cheese such as Velveeta
1 pkg of taco seasonings
1 lb of regular flavor breakfast sausage
1 lb hamburger meat
1 small can of nacho jalapeƱo slices with juice
1/2 cup to 3/4 cup whole milk
1 can of Rotel
In a slow cooker add one box of easy melt cheese in cubes and Rotel. In a skillet add sausage and hambuger meat and brown with taco seasonings. Once brown, drain oil from meat and add to the cheese stir and add jalapenos and 2 or 3 teaspoons of the juice. Stir together then add just enough milk to make cheese creamy, but not runny.
Note; I like mine mild so will always skip the jalapenos!
Serve with nacho chips
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Give thanks for laughter for it alleviates all pain.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5413. for laughter, the best medicine
5414. for life in the slow lane
5415. for time to get things done
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Everyone must choose one of two pains: The pain of discipline or the pain of regret.
Jim Rohn
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Lots of great pumpkin picture! I'm so thankful I haven't suffered from chronic pain, I know it can be so debilitating for so many!
