ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is You're Welcome Day which encourages us to simply say, You're welcome. It helps to put manners back into society.
This very special day comes the day after Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving Day we say,Thanks for what we have. So, it only seems natural, that You're Welcome immediately follows a thank you.
Participating in this day can happen anywhere that you are, and anywhere that you go today. Just speak a profusion of thank you's for even the slightest of reasons. When you say thank you, make sure to be sincere. It will go a long ways.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter which fork you use.
Emily Post
Being polite is always good. Manners may have changed but people haven’t and being appreciated will never, ever go out of style. Politeness works everywhere, all the time and begins with a simple please and thank you and you’re welcome.
Other than a quick run to the store today to pick up a few things for dinner tomorrow and for our snowman craft today, I won’t be doing any shopping at all today. It’s to be a day of family fun and I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures.
Going to the outlet mall the day before Thanksgiving proved to be an unexpected treat for us. And that is what you are seeing in the pictures today. They offered all the Black Friday sales that most will be seeing today. There were no crowds of people or harried store clerks to deal with or long lines to stand in. Except for the fact that it was very cold out, we had fun and got a lot of shopping done. We’ve already marked our calendars to shop the day before not the day after Thanksgiving again next year.
We also stopped at a gas station near by and what to my wondering eyes should appear but — Cinnabons! They are truly a treat for me and something I’d not had in a long time. DD and I needed a special treat to get us through a day of shopping so of course I had to buy a box of them. Who knew gas stations had Cinnabons???
Today is much warmer with temps in the 50’s and it’s sunny! A beautiful November day in Ohio for sure!
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
PRAYER REQUEST
Please join me in praying for DSIL and his family as his grandmother passed away yesterday. May the dear Lord bless and comfort them at this time of sorrow and loss.
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is National Sardines Day
I didn’t have any sardine pictures, but I did have Cinnabons! Sorry didn’t mean to confuse you. Sardines are a very nutrient rich fish. They are high in vitamins B2, B3 and B12, vitamin D, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, and iron. They are also a valuable source of omega 3 fatty acids which are essential for normal metabolism but cannot be produced by the human body on its own. Omega 3 fatty acids are useful for our cardiovascular system.
Sardines make for the perfect little snack or add them to a salad or serve with a side of vegetables and enjoy their unique taste!
I’ve never eaten sardines, but my dad used to love them right out of the tin they were packed in. However there are many other ways to eat them. This tasty sandwich pairs flavorful sardines and a tangy cream cheese spread.
Sardine Cream Cheese Sandwich
1 1/2 cans Mediterranean Style Sardines
2 tomatoes
4 leaves lettuce
4 bread rolls
4 oz. mozzarella cheese
Tangy Cream Cheese Spread
4 oz cream cheese
1 clove garlic chopped or grated
1/4 tease black pepper
2 Tbsp. milk
Mix together all ingredients for Cream Cheese Spread. Bead until fluffy.
Place 2 Tbsp spread on one slice of the bread roll
Place 3 sardines onto spread followed by 1 oz. mozzarella cheese
Place 2 slice tomato and 1 lettuce leaf on top followed by the other half of bread roll.
Repeat prices for remaining 3 sandwiches.
Makes 4 sandwiches
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Life be not so short but that there is always time for courtesy.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5467. for manners, very important
5468. for a family fun day
5469. for fish, good and good for you
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Treat everyone with politeness, even those who are rude to you — not because they are nice, but because you are.

A bit of love from someone dear…

Good morning! There’s a Bath and Body Works outlet in Hillsboro which is right on our way back from the ranch. I stop in there from time to time.
I’m so sorry to hear about the grandmother passing away......saying a prayer of comfort for your loved one.
My grand quads are coming today to spend the weekend. I’m going to have to get up and get busy to prepare for their arrival.
It’s a Fun Friday when we both have our grands!
Sorry to hear about your DSIL's grandmother's passing. Will say a prayer for comfort for the family. Yum with the Cinnabons. Indeed a treat! Sounded like you had an enjoyable shopping time with your daughter!

I love that quote about manners being an awareness of the feelings of others. If everyone behaved like that, it'd be a kinder gentler world.
I didn't have any interest in pursuing Black Friday sales today, but I did go to a couple grocery stores and to the book store. The grocery stores were blissfully quiet, and the book store was wonderfully crowded. :)
Have a terrific weekend.
What a cute tartan plaid hat!
Would you believe, I've never tasted a Cinnabon or a sardine? My dad enjoyed eating them right out of the can, but I'd prefer my first experience be as part of a sandwich like you've shared.
