ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Beautiful Day which means everyone can celebrate whatever makes days beautiful for them. It’s a day to go outside and look at nature. Everyday we are privileged to celebrate is a beautiful day. Though sometimes having a dedicated day, such as this, serves to help us remember and acknowledge the beauty that always surrounds us. Beautiful Day is a day to seek out beautiful things in every ordinary detail. Every day can be turned into a beautiful day but Beautiful Day is a beautiful day by nature.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty if only we have the eyes to see them.
John Ruskin
Beauty is truly all around us. It’s everywhere we go. Sometimes it takes a little extra to find it, but we only need to look. They say that when you look for beauty each day, it will change how you see the world. Nature is always changing and is never the same so every day provides a new look to what we might think is the same old thing.
After a nice quiet day yesterday spent mostly indoors, I’m ready for the busy week ahead. There is still plenty to do in Santa’s workshop here and not much time left to get it all done.
The nice thing is that I do have a lovely view from just about any room in the house so I really don’t feel closed in at all. It’s wonderful to look out and see these lovely trees all around the house. Todays pictures were taken from the sunporch on a sunny day last week.
They say we’re to have a sunny day today, but we had heavy rain and winds over the weekend that did bring down a lot of leaves. It got much colder too and there is a bit of mysterious white stuff on the ground here this morning. Hopefully it will dry out around here so I can get out and take care of those leaves once again.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
A thing of beauty is a joy forever; its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness.
John Keats
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Peanut Butter Fudge Day! Peanut butter has been a staple in American kitchens for more than a century. It can be served in a sandwich, mixed with ice cream, combined with chocolate, or whipped into fudge! Peanut butter fudge is the perfect treat for anyone with a sweet tooth and a love for rich, decadent desserts.
DID YOU KNOW: Fudge was invented when an American chef fudged up in the kitchen when attempting to make caramel and instead, created this delectable treat we all now know and love.
Peanut Butter Fudge Bars
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup butter, cut into pieces
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
Line an 8 by 8 square pan with wax paper. Lightly spray the wax paper with cooking spray.
In a medium pan over medium low heat, combine the peanut butter, butter, and salt; stir until melted and combined.
Remove from heat and carefully stir in the vanilla and powdered sugar.
Pour the fudge into the prepared pan and spread to the edges evenly. Place, covered, in fridge to harden, about 2 hours.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
In all ranks of life the human heart yearns for the beautiful; and the beautiful things that God makes are his gift to all alike.
Harriet Beecher Stowe
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5455. for the beauty in every day
5456. for the oak trees with lingering leaves
5457. for a house with lots of windows
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.
Helen Keller
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

What great views from your windows! Amber lives in a two story house with a green belt behind them. From her bedroom it looks like she’s up in a tree house! She even has a small balcony off her bedroom. Ah! I would doll that up and put a table and chair out there and sit a lot!
We have two sets of French doors that open outwardly and it feels like a California living when the weather is nice....as in not too hot! Right now the leaves are falling and if I open the doors, the carpets will be stren with them!
I’m intrigued with you sea shell wind chime. I gathered quite a few shells so Louis Dean can make one for me.
Happy Monday!
That is a pretty wind chime you have made out of seashells, Ma! It is good to have good views from your windows and it looks like you have great ones at your place!
betty
Rooms with a view! I'm happy to hear you're pleased with your new home's features!
That peanut-butter fudge sounds absolutely sinful. Simply reading the words "peanut butter" makes my mouth water!
