ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Gardening Exercise Day which recognizes the important physical health benefits of gardening.
In reality, gardening is exercise. Experts say the various activities and tasks of gardening ultimately uses all of the major muscle groups. In addition, strenuous gardening activities such as raking, hoeing, and digging is both aerobic and muscle strengthening.
Gardening is therapeutic. It's good for the mind, body, and soul.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done.

Gardening here at the new house has taken on a totally new perspective for me. I don’t have the many flower beds that I used to have to take care of, but there is still the yard to mow and weeding to be done. Thankfully I can still do what needs to be done and I enjoy it too. Not only am I getting some exercise, I also have a reason to be outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.
After having a warm weekend with temps around 80 degrees, we’ve cooled off here this week and there are more showers than sunshine in the long range forecast. I’ll be dodging the rain and trying to find a dry day to get outside it seems.
On the sunny days I’ve noticed that the windows need washing here so I have work to do on those rainy days as well. There are a lot of windows here and it’ll probably take me more than a week to get them all done. As always I work a little and rest a lot no matter inside or out.
Even on the darkest days there is plenty of light here, but when it’s sunny out those windows will look a lot nicer when they are clean. That’s what the pictures are of today… some of the many windows and the nice view I have looking out from the inside.
On the bright side I received news this morning that my youngest nephew and his wife are now the proud parents of a baby boy! What a wonderful way to start the day!
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!

Your writing about washing windows recalled a memory for me. When I was in grade school I was always staying after school to help clean the classroom and sometimes going to the convent to clean. I remember one time being asked--along with several other girls--to help wash windows at the convent. I was really excited about it and surprised to see that instead of using Windex and cloths they used water with vinegar in it and dried the windows with newspaper. I ran home to instruct my mom in this new way of cleaning. She often asked what magic there was in cleaning and washing windows at the convent because I certainly wasn't that anxious to clean at home!
Congrats to your nephew and his wife on the birth of their son. Dont do much gardening these days, but my windows could use a good washing too. Might have to do that soon.

Congrats "Auntie"!
Unlike her husband and his mother (lol), my DIL adores being outside and tending to her flowers and the like ... says that's her therapy! We're nearing monsoon season, so that's going to be my excuse for postponing window-washing!
