ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Trails Day which is established to celebrate, improve and enjoy America's magnificent trail system. It is the nation's largest celebration of trails, and all that goes with it. In addition to the national trail system, there are countless miles of state, county and local town trail systems for you enjoy. While today is a celebration of national trails, it is perfectly fine to celebrate all trails in our great nation.
Happy Trails to you!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It's the way you ride the trail that counts.
Dale Evans
I have hiked lots of trails in my lifetime and thankfully our park system here has some wonderful ones to enjoy. You don’t have to travel far at all to find one. It’s not something I do much of these days but still I do have some great memories of those times.
When I visited with my two out of state boys and their families last fall, we visited one of their local parks and that is what todays pictures are of. We had a great time and enjoyed a beautiful sunny day. The bronze statues were meant to depict the trail drives of years gone by.
We have a beautiful sunny day here today too and even though we may have rain tomorrow, it’s looking like June will be a sunnier month than it was in May.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is National Egg Day! Eggs are a terrific source of protein and vitamin D, which makes them one of the healthiest breakfast foods. There are more than a hundred ways to cook an egg. Some of the most popular varieties are scrambled, fried, poached, hard boiled, sunny side up, and over easy.
Eggs aren’t just for breakfast. Try this quick and healthy dish that can be served morning, noon, and night.
English Muffin Egg Pizza
First, hard cook two eggs. Peel and slice the eggs, then place them atop a few English muffin halves, along with a glug of olive oil, sliced tomato, and shredded mozzarella before toasting.
Simple, easy to fix and delicious!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
No memory is ever alone; it's at the end of a trail of memories, a dozen trails that each have their own associations.
Louis L'Amour
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4948. for wonderful memories
4949. for our park systems
4950. for eggs, hard boiled are good
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I love that final quote by Emmerson Pam! Its one of my favourites. Your muffin also sounds delicious. Bookmarking that. I love boiled eggs. They are such a simple thing and we probably eat more of them in the summer than any other time of year. We especially love them deviled! Over here we have a public footpaths, which cover the countryside all over and give people safe and interesting places to hike and walk. You can literally walk from one side of the country to the other and up and down the length of it. I have a friend who has done this. Todd and I used to love to hike together before my arthritis put an end to that. I really miss it! Love, hugs and blessings to you and many thanks for all that you share! xoxo
Its amazing that people here hike year round, even in the extreme heat. They just do it earlier in the day and hydrate. I like eggs, usually eat two of them hard boiled for breakfast. Glad it will be a more sunnier month ahead.

I spy with my little eye ... Ma! :) (I nearly missed you when I opened the third photo for a better look at those amazing sculptures!)
I'll definitely be making this English muffin egg pizza. We both love eggs to distraction; but I'm the only one who puts a fried egg atop her pizza.
