ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
An angel in the house they say will guard your family night and day.
Kathryn Schein
This beautiful young granddaughter’s birthday is the first May birthday in our family, but there are several more to come. And we’ll have a few anniversaries to celebrate this month too.
I was able to celebrate with our Angel when we gathered for Easter. But still I made sure to send out a card in the mail to wish her the happiest of birthdays ever.
I love being a grand’ma’ and love the time I get to spend with my grandchildren. Each one is very precious and dear to me.
Today we’re hopeful that the sun will shine awhile. I need to mow the grass and even though it’s still a little on the chilly side, I’d love to get outside too. These rainy days have been keeping me shut up in the house way too much.
They say no matter the weather outside we should always make our own sunshine. Maybe we can all find something to SMILE about today.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Chocolate Custard Day!
Custard is made by blending eggs with milk or cream and heating the mixture either on the stove or in the oven.
Decadent Chocolate Custard
1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
1/3 cup milk
6 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
4 large Eggs, yolks only
Place cream and milk in a 2 quart saucepan. Cook over medium high heat 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until mixture just comes to a boil. Immediately remove from heat. Add chocolate; whisk until melted and smooth.
Whisk yolks in bowl just to blend. Gradually whisk warm chocolate mixture into beaten yolks. Return chocolate mixture to same saucepan. Cook over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and just begins to bubble. Do not boil.
Pour custard evenly among 6 custard cups. Cool completely. Cover; chill 1 hour or until serving time.
Makes 6 servings
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Be an angel to someone else whenever you can, as a way of thanking God for the help your angel has given you.
The Angels' Little Instruction Book by Eileen Elias Freeman
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4855. for our Angel, it’s her birthday today !
4856. for a dryer day with no rain
4857. for fresh air and sunshine, it’s great to get outdoors
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY

Happy birthday to Angel! Beautiful young lady! Sunny day here, hope it is the same for you!

You have some beautiful grandchildren. And they are such a blessing to us, aren't they? Happy Wednesday!
Your Angel is so lovely! ... and those bunny ears on everyone are so great. (Something to pull out and share when they themselves are old and gray!)
We had our first 100-degree day here today; thus begins my resolve to get through the season without griping (too much).
